  • AV Cart to Enhance Our Lessons with Technology

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! This AV cart has made things run smoother in our classroom. It is such a fancy cart that has an outlet strip to charge all of our electronics in the classroom. Our classroom laptop will never run out of power again!

Another wonderful thing about our AV cart is that it is the perfect height for the teacher to login and access the Google slides for each lesson throughout the day. This cart has really made our classroom run more efficiently. Thank you for helping me provide a wonderful classroom environment for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. M.

  • Hodge Podge of Things for our Learning Centers

    Funded Apr 28, 2011

Thank you for your generosity! It was wonderful to have this proposal funded because all of these materials were such a hit in our classroom. Our favorite item was the "Writing workshop center"! The students loved this center because now we were able to have all of our writing supplies organized in one neat area and they had many options to choose from such as different paper, art supplies, envelopes. They love to write letters and make cards for their mom and dads. Also, the big box puzzles of word chunks and easy to read words are a big hit with the students, they like to work on the puzzles with their classmates.

Thank you for caring about my wonderful students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. M.

  • Help Little First Graders Gain ValuableTechnology Skills!

    Funded Apr 28, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom! The children LOVED the computer. They use it often during center time and also they like to use it for research. This computer is perfect for my little first graders because it is touch screen and the children who are not too familiar with technology are able to participate too!

The funding of this project is going to make a huge difference in my students' lives because they are able to interact with technology on a daily basis and I believe this will prepare them for a successful future.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Make Earth Day Every Day!

    Funded Apr 4, 2011

Thank you so much for the environmental supplies to celebrate earth day. The children and I loved the supplies so much, we used the books to study habitats such as the rain forest, desert and the arctic. During centers the students used the animal cards to further explore the animals that they were interested in. In addition, the students were able to take these books home to share with their families at home. Thank you for supporting my students, they were so happy that people wanted to donate books for their classroom, they felt so special!”

  • Document Camera for Little First Graders

    Funded Mar 25, 2011

Thank you so much for your wonderful donation! I was so excited to incorporate this document camera into my everyday lessons. This camera worked wonders during math! The students were able to visually see me teaching them math and they could follow along with my pen. It is very difficult to teach 1st graders and have them all be on the same task, but they were able to follow along with me and I had ALL of their attention. This was AMAZING! Teaching math was so much fun with the document camera and it helped me make the lessons more interactive because I would have students come up to the camera and work out problems and they were able to teach their classmates. This is great because children learn best from their peers sometimes. Thank you for helping me create innovative lessons for my students!”

  • Computer Desk for our First Grade Classroom

    Funded Apr 16, 2011

Thank you so much for your wonderful donations! We love, love, the computer desk and it really enhances our classroom environment. The children LOVE their classroom and this desk was the missing piece of the puzzle that helped transform our classroom into a warm cozy place for my 1st graders to feel safe in and enjoy!

The desk now holds our two classroom computers and it is the perfect size for my little first graders. The two blue chairs are so tiny and cute, but they are perfect for my tiny students. We also love that there is a bottom shelf on this desk that allows us to keep our printer there and makes it easily accessible for my students to print their work.

Thanks for caring about my wonderful students!”

  • MishMash of Things for our First Grade Classroom

    Funded Mar 20, 2011

Thank you so much for funding my project MISHMASH of THINGS for our CLASSROOM! The children and I were so happy to receive all of these much needed items for our classroom. The book troughs are a BIG hit in our classroom! Every month we have special themes (earth day, plants, life cycles) that we choose for our read aloud during story time and now we have somewhere to display these books. This also makes it easier for the students to find these books during independent reading time. We even have teachers asking where did we get the book troughs ; they comment on how nice they are and that they also want them for their classrooms. The children also love the rainbow pointers and they use them during centers where they practice reading around the classroom, sight words in particular. Thank you so much! Your donation has helped us improve our classroom, thank you for caring about us!”

  • I Can Hear the Story All by Myself!

    Funded Oct 27, 2010

Thank you for helping my students get books with CDs for our classroom! My students listen to these books every day during center time. They love going to the the listening center and having the freedom to choose their own book to listen to. Also, I am seeing great improvement in their vocabulary skills since many of them speak another language at home this helps them learn English. They also get to borrow these books and take them home to practice reading. They LOVE to take them home and share them with their loved ones! Thank you for providing my students with these special opportunities to interact with literature.”

  • Bring Technology to my 1st Graders!

    Funded Oct 20, 2010

Thank you for helping us get a computer cart for our treasured laptop computer. I am so happy that we have this computer cart because it allows me to lock up our computer and projector at the end of the day and have piece of mind that it will not get stolen. I am so happy to share this wonderful technology with my students and even happier that I can store it securely in my classroom without worry. My students even have jobs, 2 of my students are in charge of storing and locking up our technology equipment at the end of the day and even though they are 1st graders they are so responsible. Thank you for helping our classroom be a fun and innovative classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. M.

  • Feed Our Brains with Literature!

    Funded May 22, 2010

Thank you for your generous donation! My students are so happy that they have new books to read in their classroom library. In addition, they have started to take these books home to practice with their families (they are extra excited to have these books all to themselves at home). They love to read and explore these books and the classroom favorite is Leonardo the Terrible Monster which we have read during read aloud time. They all want to take this book home! Thank you for sharing such a lovely gift with my students.”
