• Books that Teach!

  This project has been so incredible for my students! Thanks to you, we received many new books about music and musicians. My students were so excited to hold, touch, and read these new books! They look forward to reading about our genre of the month and famous musicians from that genre. We have studied Latin music with Celia Cruz and Tito Puente, which we now have books about! Next month, we will be studying classical music. It's always fun to show my students how exciting and fun music truly is! Your generosity and support make my job that much easier! Thank you again!”

• Tune in to Learning!

  This project has made a huge impact on my students' learning! Having resources to use technology to teach in our music room has been so impactful! My students love MusicPlay Online, a digital music curriculum full of fun activities, games, and more. We use it every day to learn and have fun. • Stools for Music!

  Funded Oct 31, 2024

  Thank you again for contributing to my project and providing my students with new stools for music class! These stools have been a much needed addition to our classroom, where we do not have desks or chairs. My older students love sitting on stools and other flexible seating. We also use these stools to play our bigger bass xylophone instruments, which helps students to have better playing posture and be more comfortable! We love our new stool and are so grateful that you helped us get them! Thank you again!”

• Creating Harmony!

  This project was so wonderful for my students! They absolutely love the new karaoke mics, which we have used to practice for our concert and the talent show! Another favorite of my students is the writing tablets. They can write down rhythms on them, and they appear colorful! Then, they can press a button and their work is cleared. These have been great for checking to see how my students are doing on their skills.

  Up next, my 3rd and 4th grade students are looking forward to playing the recorder! This instrument will teach my students music reading skills, along with other skills, too!

• Books for Music, Culture, Caring, and Sharing!

  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! These new books are absolutely amazing. My students were so excited to open the boxes, read the books, and look at all the beautiful pictures. This set of books focuses on other cultures, as well as social-emotional skills. Through these books, my students are learning about musical concepts, such as composers and instruments, as well as human concepts, such as sharing and caring for others.

• Movable Music!

  This project provided us with new materials that make music moveable! My students absolutely love these new manipulatives. They enjoy being able to come up to the board and write out the song we are learning using these new tools. Some of their favorites are the emojis that we use to talk about emotions and music. They also like creating their own songs with Boomwhackers, a tube-like musical instrument, and the letters that are color-coded to match! Thank you so much for your support! • Kazoo Kraze!

  THANK YOU! The materials from this project were much needed in my classroom. The students have loved learning the kazoo and enjoy echoing me on them! The rubber chicken was an instant class favorite for many! My students enjoy being silly and playing rhythms with it. The beads and other materials are so helpful, too.

  We are currently getting ready for our December concert. We are working hard on learning songs, dances, and speaking parts to perform for our community. The students can't wait to show off all they've been working on.

• Reading in Music!

  Wow, are these new books great! My students absolutely love being able to listen to a song and sing along with the book! This is helping students practice their reading and musical skills at the same time!

  When we use these books, students get so excited. They love seeing the pictures that bring the songs to life. They enjoy reading them as a whole class, in small groups, or on their own.

  These books have helped reinforce musical concepts as well as give my students opportunities to practice their reading. Thank you for being a part of my students' education!”
