Super Second-Grade Scholars
Funded Aug 14, 2023My students were thrilled with all of the fantastic goodies I was able to purchase with this grant!
They have loved the elastic desk bands that enable them to move their bodies while they are focusing on classwork. This is a big help to students who normally have a hard time focusing during quiet times.
They have used the new bench seats in the library on a daily basis! They love to sit in a comfy seat while they read with a partner.
The mechanical pencils have been so convenient! They feel grown up when using these fancy pencils. Also, less time spent sharpening pencils helps us focus on more important things.
The little stuffed piglet is also a big hit among students! They get to take turns holding "Wilbur" while we read Charlotte's Web each day. So sweet.
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this grant!”

Funded Feb 8, 2022My students absolutely loved the new supplies funded through this grant! Many of the educational items were utilized every day.
The little round ottoman chairs have been a hit in my classroom library. Students rush to sit in the chairs during storytime, while I read from a chapter book each day. They also use them during reading group time, when they get to read with a partner.
I've used the printer and printer cartridges to print numerous educational printables. It has been much more convenient for me to print from my classroom, rather than finding another teacher to watch my class while I walk to our school's shared printer.
The Command Spring Clips are currently being used for a large display area for student work. My students love to see their writings and art creations on display in the hallway!
The educational books, playdough, blank storybooks (that they used to write their own books) have also been a big hit among my students.
Thank you so much for funding all of these fantastic items! We truly appreciate it!”

Funded Oct 3, 2012When I logged on to my email account a few weeks ago and realized that our Kindle Fire Project had been funded, I was overwhelmed with appreciation! I knew that this project would help incorporate new technology into my classroom that is very hard to obtain within our high-poverty district.
Every student in my classroom uses and enjoys the Kindle Fires. We incorporate them into our daily curriculum as we interact with higher-level learning games, practice reading skills through educational apps, and explore non-fiction topics. Some of their favorite apps include Kids Doodle (which enables them to practice their spelling words in a creative way), Dino Cursive, BugBrained Phonics, Learn to Count Pirate Money, and Interactive Telling Time. Students also enjoy reading several of our Kindle e-books, and then take Accelerated Reader tests to check their comprehension.
My students are thrilled to be using the Kindle Fires. Thank you so much for donating to this project and enhancing their educational experience in my classroom. I feel extremely lucky this year to have such supportive parents and other caring individuals to help make this project possible.
We truly appreciate you.”
