Mad About Gregor
Funded Nov 25, 2009When I asked for the Gregor books, I had no idea that they would be such a huge success. Since receiving them, they have been read by almost every student in the class - they are literally "flying off the shelves!" and I have a waiting list of students who want to borrow them.
The budget cuts have left us unable to restock our shelves so your donation has been a great help. Literacy is such an important part of life and with these books I have been able to reach even the most reluctant readers.
Thank you once again for your generous donation.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Russell
Nature Walks
Funded Oct 22, 2009I would like to thank you once again for your generous donation. My students have thoroughly enjoyed using the art supplies. Their faces light up whenever we go out on our "Nature Walks." We've even ventured out in the snow (and there's been a lot of that this year).
Due to the lack of school funding, we do not have a formal art class and so I try to find ways to incorporate art with the literature we are reading in class. At the moment we are connecting our art and the way we see the world around us to the novel "Pictures of Hollis Woods." This is a gift that we will be using all year as we are currently putting together a portfolio of seasonal pictures.
Knowing that there are people like you who are willing to donate to projects such as this makes my students aware that we live in a community that cares.
Thank you once again.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Russell
