My students are a diverse group -- in more ways than one. They come from different ethnic groups, social groups, and differ immensely in learning style. Even though they are so different, they've learned to love each other like family because most of them have grown up together since Kindergarten! They may be fighting like brothers and sisters one moment, then in the next, you see them helping each other with a math problem or sharing their snacks at lunch.
They've been dubbed the "rambunctious bunch", but we have been training them to focus their energy into learning. That means putting a lot of creative spins on making the lesson and activities dynamic, to keep them engaged and learning!
