Interactive Tools for Interactive Learning!
Funded Aug 15, 2023Thank you for contributing to our project! The interactive whiteboard has been an impressive tool to add to our classroom. It has added so many engagement possibilities to my classroom.
My students have gained so much with using the interactive whiteboard! They are able to manipulate and write on the slides. My students have enjoyed using this tool to complete letter and letter sound matching by moving the letters to the correct photo. They have also used the interactive whiteboard to manipulate virtual manipulatives to solve addition and subtraction problems. This interactive whiteboard can be utilized in many ways.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Funded Nov 15, 2021First and foremost I would like to thank you for your generous donations. As a teacher in a low-income area, I find that students do not have the resources to have books at home. Reading is such an important part of everyday life, and the easiest way to have a child practice reading is to have them read an engaging book they can relate to and enjoy. We were able to get a variety of read-aloud books and guided reading books into our student's hands, and having access to these books will make a huge impact on these children's lives.
We are enjoying our new read-aloud books! Reading at the carpet, especially shared reading, is a critical part of a preschool classroom. This allows children to strengthen their focusing skills, practice classroom expectations, and learn about new things. We have been learning about being kind, weather, different animals, and the parts of a book with these new read-aloud books. Students can take this new information throughout their day and apply their knowledge in many different ways.
The guided reading books are perfect for my students who are ready to start reading independently. They enjoy picking a new book for guided reading each week and the added variety entices them to work on their reading skills even more. Furthermore, leveled readers are imperative to a functioning classroom library. The clear levels allow children to pick out a book that they can read independently, which builds reading skills and more importantly confidence in reading.
My students appreciate all you have done, the impact of your generosity will help these children thrive in life.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for your donation of the 18 ball chairs for my preschoolers! My students were absolutely thrilled when they came in to see the ball chairs! Many students couldn't wait to sit on them during lessons, independent work, and small groups! We learned how bouncing can be a great way to let off some built-up energy and how swaying side to side can help us focus!
Each of my students is able to sit on a ball chair instead of a traditional chair or wobble stool. This allows them to have some more control over their day. Many different behaviors, that aren't ideal for the classroom, are caused by a feeling of not being in control. Allowing students to have a choice of chair gives them an opportunity to feel like they have a say, right at the start of their day.
The next steps in my classroom are to make learning more accessible by adding to our classroom library, integrating fidgets, and providing parents information on the importance of play outside of the classroom.”

Mrs. Lutz
