  • Financial Literacy for Our Youngest Learners

    Funded Sep 29, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and my students with resources to support their financial literacy knowledge. The magnetic money and stories are so helpful to allow my students to be hands on with realistic looking money and the stories are applicable to their age. We are able to connect our curriculum with these supports to practice daily with our money and financial skills. We can also keep the magnet money out for reference during other activities that we work on for easy storage.

The little book of giving has been a great addition to our classroom library and we have been able to tie it into our unit theme 'Gift of Giving' and it works so seamlessly into our curriculum. We are able to extend our core curriculum activities with these stories and we will be able to revisit them each year. The book 'What is money' is also a big hit with my students with the great animations and the different representations of money in the illustrations. We can use the magnet money to pass around examples of real money and practice sorting like monies. These are such great stories to help kids understand on their level.”

  • Craft Supply and Classroom Organization

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for our craft supplies and classroom organization. My students love that we have so much color around to help us have an engaging and vocabulary rich classroom. We are able to have everyone participate in art and craft activities with different tools for everyone's individual needs and keep them all accessible and organized for future use.

The dauber class set with new color are such and exciting addition to our classroom. The fatter tools are great for small hands and for students who have fine motor or grip strength difficulties. These tools allow everyone to participate and engage in activities. We are enjoying having lots of color options to create posters, activities and keep students engaged with all learning spaces in the classroom.”

  • Thumbprint Art

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity! I am so excited to have these books to inspire new ideas through trusted means of discovery through monoprinting and printing techniques. The stampers also allow me to integrate and give students with disabilities an enjoyable experience in printing as well. I have many special education students who do not like to touch paint or ink so the handled stamps allow them to enjoy and participate without getting frustrated with ink or paint on their hands.

With my kinder and first grade students we have started exploring with the stamps and our fingerprints and next class we will take our fingerprints and 'transform' the prints into new things like trains, bugs, and flowers from Ed Emberley's Fingerprint Drawing book. I am so excited for these great resources, ideas and tools!”

  • Art Room Organization

    Funded May 2, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity. As an art teacher, I have a lot of stuff and these carts not only help keep my room organized but it also allows me to support my students and their abilities to put things away and retrieve supplies that they need. I have a variety of students with abilities and ages and with the carts I am able to make the task of getting supplies accomplishable simply by opening the drawer that the needed supplies are in and allowing students to get what they need when they need them. I try to always give students a choice when we work on projects whether it is subject, media, etc. and this allows me to have multiple media options available but not have my room in chaos and disorganization.”

  • Pre-K Supply Depot

    Funded Apr 17, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity. With the trays my pre-k students are practicing cleaning up their areas independently. Though this sounds like an easy feat I have pre-k students ages 3-5 and they include students with disabilities such as down syndrome and autism spectrum disorder. The life skills of independence is so hard to teach and support in a 30 minute class period but the trays have been a benefit.

The organization carts are so wonderful for helping keep organized and allowing students to return supplies independently as well. Before these supply depot carts were in our class we left supplies on the tables and I had to return them to the storage closet. Being able to pull the pre-k supply cart out and know all of their supplies are there and ready for them has been a huge time saver and allows us to do more art. Thank you for gifting us these supplies to allow more organization, easier transition and the ability to support independence in my youngest group of students.”

  • Monster Feelings

    Funded Apr 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity. With these supplies we were able to talk about feelings and how colors can portray them. My students enjoyed discovering different ways of exploring color and completing pictures with the button nail resources. The button nail resources are fun and engaging that allow students to pick a picture they like and to match the correct button and color with the spot. These OT skills are helpful as many of these students need additional support to work on OT improvement. I look forward to using these materials for many years to come in full lessons and in station activities. Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and my students.”

  • Pre-K Color Unit

    Funded Aug 2, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students loved being able to sort and get their hands on manipulatives. We incorporated the sorting fruit with our color sorting book and have a better understanding of sorting. We will be able to review and go back to these manipulatives to reinforce the skills we learned. I like that there are different sizes of items so that I am able to use the manipulatives for both my 3 year old pre-k and my VPK classes. Both groups get the basic idea and we can work more with the VPK classes to solidify the concept of sorting by size, shape and/or colors.”

  • Canvas Experience

    Funded Feb 21, 2018

Opening all of the boxes of canvas and canvas boards was so amazing. Thank you so much for giving me the ability to share a wonderful experience with my students. My lower elementary students are thrilled that we are able to paint and enter paint projects into our county's art show. My middle elementary students are getting their projects planned to paint on the canvas boards. We always like to be able to plan and practice on paper and then draw and paint on canvas. Good artist practice and then finish. My 6th graders are preparing and planning for their choice topic painting to put on the canvas. As the oldest group they are the ones who will be the most prepared to work with a real canvas.

Your generosity is much appreciated. Art is such a beneficial resource class to have but supplies do get expensive. My rosters list that I have 753 students and each one of them has been able to make an art project with the supplies that you have donated to my classroom. Thank you for helping me give a great painting experience to my students.”

  • Symmetry Bigs

    Funded Feb 21, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity. This project is a project that I have been wanting to do as a new way to incorporate art and science in one lesson. In this project my students are learning about bugs and what ones are symmetrical. We are able to visit our science lab and look at the butterflies (after they hatch) with the magnifying glasses and take note of their symmetry lines. We are able to use the posters of different bugs to help give the students a choice of which bug they want to draw for their project.

Without your generous donation this project wouldn't make the same impact on my students. With the supplies you have donated I am able to continue this project for many years to come and share the great experience of art and science working together.

Many of my students fall into different background categories from ESE (exceptional students, learning disabilities, autism, etc.), military children, and some are from low income families. The donation of these items gives my students a chance at experiencing a great project that may not have been possible otherwise. Thank you again for your generosity, I will be using these resources for many years to come.”

Students will get to choose to draw either themselves or another person. These will all be pencil drawings but the student artist will be able to choose to do it in either colored pencil or charcoal pencil. The artist has the freedom to choose what era their subject will be placed in i.e. now, future, past, outer space, etc. These materials will allow my students to have proper art pencils to use their shading techniques, ability to lightly accent their details and if they desire to use a high quality colored pencil. The drawing paper will give the students a good quality paper that is made for art which will allow for alterations to be made with little signs that a change was made.
