• Clean, Fresh and Fueled!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! We have been using these resources every day to keep our classroom clean, fresh and inviting for all of our students! Wiping our desks, chairs, door handles etc with the Clorox wipes has been an important step in keeping all of our students healthy.

  Our students were very excited to open the box and help us put away our supplies. We chose the new air fresheners for our class restrooms, and they like how fresh our restrooms smell now!

• Build Your Learning!

  Thank you so much for bringing this project to life! My students love these magnetic blocks and enjoy using them to practice both reading and math! We use dry erase markers to write on them so that we can reuse them again and again!

  Some of my students have never played with or used magnetic tiles like these, and they were fascinated by them! I am so thankful to have the opportunity to be able to enrich my students lives through play and through learning, and I absolutely could not have done it without generous donors like you! • Supplies to Power Our Learning!

  This was the perfect time to receive these supplies - right before Christmas! We are so thankful to be able to replenish our classroom supplies with new pencils, erasers, scissors, crayons and folders!

  Many of my students have been using broken crayons, so they each received a new pack of crayons to fuel their creativity! Our pencils and erasers were running low as well so this was just what we needed to get us through hopefully the rest of the year!

• Fiction Readers Make Reading Fun!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! We love the fiction readers that we received, as well as the very handy, brightly colored bins to store them in! My students love looking through these books in the mornings to choose something interesting to whet their reading appetites!

  These readers are perfect for our class because they provide support for my lowest readers and fluency practice for my high ones. They help my students practice high frequency words and they are books my students actually enjoy reading!

• Non-fiction Reading is Fun!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! My students love reading these readers every morning. It has become part of our morning routine to read these books after we unpack to stimulate our minds and prepare ourselves for reading lessons!

  The pictures combined with the simple text help my students to practice their reading in a way that makes it accessible for even my lowest students. They love the non-fiction books because of the colorful, real-life pictures, and they love showing me their favorite ones, as well as reading them over and over, which is a great way to build reading fluency!

• We're Focused and Working Quietly!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! Headphones are a vital resource in our classroom because a portion of our every day learning takes place in the form of online learning programs that help our students sharpen their math and reading skills. When students do not have their headphones, or their headphones are not working, it is a disruption to those around them, even if those students have their headphones!

  Having an environment where every student has their own pair of sanitized headphones helps our class to work on reading and math without distractions - and this way we get a lot more done!

• Classroom Cleaning Crew!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project that will be a huge help in regards to the cleaning of our classroom and the health of our first grade friends! We were on our last bottle of hand sanitizer, and we had already run out of Clorox wipes, so these packages of cleaning supplies were a welcome gift to our classroom!

  We are still in the throes of cold/flu/COVID/germs-spreading-like-wildfire season so it is important to keep those high contact surface areas wiped and free of germs because of how many friends, teachers, and administrators pass through our room on a daily basis! We want to keep everyone healthy and coming to school because each of these people that walk in and out of our room are important!

• Stay Focused!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! First of all, we love the string lights and how they illuminate our classroom while we work on our Chromebooks. My students oohed and ahhed when I plugged them in for the first time. I am ecstatic to have them create a more relaxing atmosphere in our classroom.

  The testing shields also have made a big difference in our classroom. We have used them for assessments many times, and the students often ask if they can have one. I feel that they enjoy the privacy and it creates a break from their neighbors that can be beneficial to their mental health.

• Look at Our Book Nook!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! We are enjoying our book nook so much! The students love using the books and sitting on the pillows to read. They love the brand new books that we have - including our favorite "Green Eggs and Ham!" We also have a few leveled readers now that students can read, no matter what their reading level is!

  They will ask if they can go to the book nook during a break, or if they can bring a favorite book back to their desk to read. I love that they are enjoying reading and that it is a beloved activity in our classroom now!”

• Supplies for Learning All Year Long!

  Thank you so much for funding this project! Already these supplies are making a difference in our classroom! When we opened the boxes, the students were surprised to see boxes and boxes of crayons, pencils, pencil pouches, and a class set of colorful scissors! I have already handed out boxes of crayons to students that did not bring supplies at the beginning of the year. The zip ties in particular have been very useful with securing meal cards to students' backpacks, and helping bring a tiny bit of order to our Chromebook area.
