  • Building the Minds of Kindergarteners

    Funded Dec 25, 2024

Thank you so much for the hands on materials for the classroom. Students are using the magnetic tiles to build ramps with the cars. This ties in with our force and motion unit. Students are also using the foam blocks for building and pretend play.

The students in my room were so excited to see the materials. We had several of them open and already using them the first day.

While learning about force and motion we will start to work on winter sports. The students can use these materials to build ramps, sleds, and ice rinks. Thank you again for your support with my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lenihan

  • Hands on Materials

    Funded Feb 5, 2024

Thank you for your donation to my classroom. The students love using the building supplies to create with. With these supplies the students are working on eye hand movement, sharing, imagination, social emotional skills and problem solving. Just to name a few.

During our plants and bug unit the students made habitats for worms, plants for the pots, and bugs. The students weighed worms with the new supplies and listened to stories.

The students enjoyed learning through play base learning. Thank you again.”

  • New Classroom Rug

    Funded Sep 27, 2023

Thank you for the generous donation for the rug in my classroom. We use this rug every day. It has brought warmth, color and organization to my classroom. The students have their own spots on the rug. This helps them get started quickly on the next activity and having space to learn. The students love reading on the rug and building.

The students were so excited getting this rug. They loved the color and squares gave them their own space. They love rubbing the letters and pictures. It seems to have brought some life to our space.

Thank you again for your donation.”

  • STEM Building Supplies

    Funded Jul 1, 2023

Thank you for the STEM building supplies. These are a great way for little learners to become more independent and explore learning. They are able to build ramps when we are learning about force and motion. The students can build habitats when we are learning about the rainforest and the farm.

These STEM building supplies also help build their fine motor skills, sharing, reasoning skills and problem solving skills. The students are able to use these successfully and help encourage a joy of learning.

Thank you again for your support in my classroom.”

  • Hands on Exploring

    Funded Jun 2, 2022

Thank you for donating to my classroom. My students love using the sensory bins. They are a big hit in the classroom. They are using their fine motor skills, getting sensory breaks from the bins and are using their imaginations while using the bins. The felt boards are great for the students to design and image. They are large enough for several students to use together. The students are working together, sharing and discussing their thoughts while using the felt boards.

The students could not wait to use the sensory bins and felt boards. They are user friendly and have brought excitement to my classroom.”

Thank you so much for the hands on literacy activities for my classroom. My students are able to use these independently and love the colors and easy learning. They are also using their fine motor skills as well. The students love finding the key that matching the sounds of a letter or the word on the lock. Their faces light up when they unlock the lock and love showing their success with their friends.

The students loved seeing the boxes and was using the activities right away. They are user friendly and they know right away if they are correct or incorrect.

  • Headphones for Distance Learning

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation of head phones for my class. These are wonderful to use this year in class because we can not share materials and the cords are not for kindergarten. They enjoy using these in the class. They do not hurt their ears or the heads. The students find them comfortable and easy to use independently. The cords are not getting tangled up and the students can put them in the ipads on their own. Thank you again for you support with my students this year. They really enjoy using them this year.”

  • Hands on both at home and in class

    Funded Nov 6, 2020

Thank you so much for the write and wipe pockets for the students in my class. These have come in handy while learning from home and in the class. I send home one paper and they can use it over and over again because they can put it in their write and wipe pockets to use with a dry erase marker over and over again.

We use the magnetic paddles daily in the class and at home. I can see their thinking and learning because the students can hold up the paddles and show me their thinking.

Thank you again for your support with my students this year.”

  • Organization for Center Time

    Funded Jun 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your support for my students and classroom. The students are now able to have organize centers. The students are able to grab a bin and work with a partner and the clean up is easy and fast. The students also love using the headphones. This really helps out with the noise level in the classroom. The students are able to use these independently as well. They love using the plastic sleeves while working. It is easy to use with a dry erase marker and I do not have to make as many copies. Thank you again for your support.”

Our school is an urban school with students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Many students do not have the opportunities to practice the skills they learn at school with anyone at home. My students possess a wide range of academic abilities. In my classroom, I alter many activities to allow all students to be challenged at their own level. Many of my students have few opportunities to further their knowledge of letters, letter sounds, rhyming, and other literacy essentials at home. For other students in my class, English is their second language. The creative tools that I have requested will be perfect for furthering these essential skills. It is very helpful for the classroom, to frequently use this sort of engaging tool. Increasing the skills needed for literacy, is a main goal of mine, and I hope to do so through methods that are effective, fun, and engaging for the students.
