Over the last two years, I have poured myself into any material I can find on flexible seating. I have gone to thrift stores and garage sales trying to find furniture that can be repurposed. I have also recruited my husband to build a standing table and other furniture that will aid in my students' learning. Why? Because I know that flexible seating will benefit my students in my English Language Arts classroom. My students will be able to choose a seat, or an area, that will best benefit their learning. They will be able to maximize their potential and creativity. It also gives them a voice in their learning. Having a say in how they learn, even the smallest part, can make the biggest impact. Students do not all learn in the same manner, and many struggle to sit in a regular desk and chair. The materials that I chose will help those students. The cushions will be used on a shorter table that we repurposed to allow students to sit on the floor. While the wobble chairs will be placed at desks and a small group table.
