All We Want for Christmas...Is a Clean New Rug
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness. My class was very excited to get a brand new learning rug. They loved seeing all the letters, numbers and color words on the rug. The colors are vibrant and the first thing when they saw the new rug was they just wanted to lay down on it. My teacher friends and parent volunteers were excited, too. Everyone wanted to be the first one to roll on it.
The arrival of the rug had perfect timing. I was able to "unveil" the new rug on the night of Open House. Open House is when all the students and their families come to school in the evening to see all the work that their child has done throughout the year. Many of my students brought in some money to help contribute to the rug. So I let my students' families know that it was a team effort. I really appreciate your generosity. We would not have a new rug if it were not for you.
We use the rug constantly throughout the day. We learn and play on the rug. We will take care of the rug and it will be used year after year. You have touched many lives. We are very happy and grateful.”

Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you for your kindness and generous donations. Over 120 students play with the two basketball hoops and the seven basketballs. The basketballs are the perfect size for their little hands. Everyday I see the children playing basketball with each other and learning about sharing and teamwork.
In the classroom, the academics are getting more and more rigorous each year. It is nice to know that they can go outside and have fun things to play with. Your donations have touched many lives. Year after year the children will be able to play with the hoops and the balls. They love shooting baskets which also helps them with their hand-eye coordination. I really appreciate your support!”

Funded Dec 9, 2017Thank you for your generous and thoughtful donations. Now we have two more trikes and traffic signs for our kindergarten yard. Our students are very excited to ride the trikes especially since they have traffic signs along the track. It has encouraged the children to read as they go around the track plus there is no confusion on which direction they should be riding. Also, our trikes are neatly parked by the parking sign. Before they would leave them anywhere on the track.
It was awesome to see their faces when they saw the traffic signs. They were excited they could read the signs and they couldn't wait to put them around the yard and track. Of course, all the children wanted to be the first one to ride the new trikes.
With all the academic standards the children need to meet, it is so nice to see them on the yard playing with each other. Thanks to all of you the children are having more fun while they are outside. Nothing beats the sound of children experiencing pure joy!”

Funded Oct 5, 2016Thank you for funding the iPad Pro, iPad case and the Apple Pen. It was very exciting to receive new technology for our kindergarten classroom. We have enjoyed learning how to use the Apple Pen together. My students get so excited when they are able to come up and use the Apple Pen when solving math problems, drawing pictures and writing words. Thank you for bringing learning to life with the new technology. Together with the projector, the students are able to share their work. We really appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. We wouldn't have this type of technology in the classroom if it weren't for you. Thank you again! Happy New Year! It is going to be a great year for learning!”

Help! Kinder Techies Want to Print!
Funded Oct 6, 2015I can't thank you enough for the printer and ink for my classroom. Now my students are able to create pictures on the computer and print them out. They can instantly see what they have created on the computer. My students get so excited when they see their printed work. We are also able to publish stories in the classroom. Before, when we wanted to print something we would have to send it to the principal so she could print it out for us. Now we are able to do it ourselves and my students are learning how to print it out themselves.
Ink is very expensive so we are very grateful for the extra printer cartridges. We can print in color and print photos. I do a monthly journal with my students and I am able to print photos for their journals. It is a keepsake journal for them to keep forever to remember their kindergarten year and their kindergarten friends.
The printer is lifesaver. There have been times when I needed one more copy of a worksheet and now I can print one out in the classroom. It saves time and frustration. Thank you Chevron for your generous donation. I really appreciate you giving back to the community.”

Kinder Techies Gone Wild, Part 2
Funded Oct 31, 2014Thank you Chevron for your continued support and generous donations to numerous classrooms including mine. My students were very excited to receive the two iPad Airs and the iPad Air covers. The covers will protect them for many years. They are used daily in my classroom and throughout the day.
When I am doing small group instruction I am able to have an iPad group that works on reading and math reinforcement or enrichment. All my students can't wait to work on the iPads. I also let them use the iPads when they finish their work during whole group instruction but their work needs to be neat and at the best level that they can do. So it really motivates them to do their best. I can't say enough how it has helped my students who need more practice in certain areas. There are so many apps that teach different skills so there is something for everyone. Thank you for making this possible.
Everyday my students always say, "What group is going to the iPads?." When we received the iPads my students couldn't believe that Chevron was so generous to buy us the iPads. It sure made them feel special.”

iLearn with iPads
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you for your generous and thoughtful donations! My students couldn't believe that we had two new iPad Airs. They all wanted to be the first ones to use it! We also really appreciated the covers so the iPads will be protected so we can use them for many years to come.
I downloaded many new apps on the iPads. It is great because the old iPads can not download the newer apps. Now they prefer the new iPads over the older ones. I am amazed how they can type in the password and navigate through the iPad with no assistance. It has also supported the students who need help in specific areas and also has challenged the students who are working above grade level.
Now that I have wifi in my classroom the students are able to use a supplemental reading program called Raz-Kids. It enables the students to hear stories, read stories and also answer comprehension questions. They can work at their own pace and level. It has boost the confidence of my kindergarten students. Thank you for choosing my project to support. The iPads are used daily. They want to come in before school so they can use them to learn. Thank you for helping me get technology in my classroom. If it weren't for you and Donorschoose.org I wouldn't have any iPads in my classroom. I can't thank you enough!”

Kinder Techies Gone Wild
Funded Oct 11, 2013I want to thank all of you for your generous and thoughtful donations. My students were all excited when they saw the two new iPads. All of my students wanted to be the first one to use them.
I downloaded a lot of new learning apps on the iPads. Now they prefer the new iPads over the old ones. They love using the iPads. It is amazing how I can just hand them the iPad and they know how to put in the password and they can find and use the different apps. I am also using it as an incentive. If they don't return their homework then they can't use the iPad. If they need to work on their behavior then they can't use it. It has definitely motivated them to do better in school.
We just got wifi so my students are able to do a supplemental reading program called Raz-Kids. It enables the children to hear a story, read a story and answer questions about the story. It is great reading practice. Now they are able to read more and listen to stories more because of you. Thanks again for your kindness! We are truly grateful! We know it is because of you that we are able to get technology in our classroom!”

An iPad2 For Our Kinder Room
Funded Oct 10, 2012I want to thank everyone for their generous and thoughtful donations. My class and I really appreciate you for funding our project. Thanks to you we now have a new iPad in our classroom. We now have a total of three iPads in our classroom that are constantly being used. My students love to use all the learning apps. They always want to use the iPads. I am constantly buying new apps to reinforce the concepts that I teach.
Our instructional director came to observe and she was impressed by the use of technology in the classroom and how the students were on task learning different skills. I want to let you know that you made this possible. You made 24 kindergartners very excited to come to school everyday. Thank you!T”

Funded Jan 30, 2012I want to thank everyone for your generous donations and your thoughtfulness for choosing our project. The children love learning on the iPad. I am amazed how well they can use the iPad. They know how to turn it, put in the password and then they go to all the educational apps. They learn new skills or review old ones. My students can't get enough of the iPad. We currently have two iPads in our classroom. All of my students want to use it that I let two students use it at one time. They share so nicely and are very motivated to learn and work together. Now with larger class sizes, it is nice that I am able to work with a smaller group and I never have to worry about the iPad group because they are engaged in their activities. Thank you for enriching our classroom. My students and I really appreciate it.”
