Running the Distance With the Marathon Mustangs
Funded Oct 17, 2016Thank you for contributing to our school's effort to become stronger and healthier through long distance running! We are participating in the Marathon Kids running program, which requires a commitment to running every day, ultimately reaching a cumulative distance of at least one marathon, which is equal to 26.2 miles. Your contribution of award medals is helping to inspire our students on their running journey. Along with actually getting out to the track and putting in the physical work, in class we are learning about healthy lifestyles through nutrition, exercise, making healthy choices, and learning to be kind and respectful to others.
In the spring, we will be taking a bus to a local college to attend the Marathon Kids' culminating event, in which student runners from many different schools meet together to celebrate their running achievements. At this event, we will be able to present the students with their medals. I have already showed them the medals to inspire them to get outside and run.
Your help is making a huge difference in what we are able to do to inspire our children. Thank you again for your support and all you do to help our public schools, teachers and students!”

Quill to the Rescue Again!
Funded Aug 2, 2016Dear Donors,
I am writing to thank you for your contributions to our classroom this year. My students and I are thankful to have enough toner for our new classroom printer to last the whole year! We are also thankful to you for providing motivational prizes for our classroom treasure chest, and for the cleaning supplies that we will use to keep the room clean and sanitary.
We use our printer every day for many things, such as printing out our stories and illustrations, and for printing out papers to go along with lessons and study materials. It is a vital part of our classroom. Toner is pricey and difficult to keep in stock with our limited budget. Thank you for stocking our classroom with toner.
My students love our classroom treasure chest. It is a great tool for motivating 5 year olds. They will work so hard to get a chance to earn a prize from the treasure box. Thank you for adding to our prizes and helping to keep our treasure chest filled with prizes!
We count on the help from donors such as you to provide the extras that our school can't afford. Thank you for your support of our room, and your support of students, teachers and schools!”

Funded Aug 9, 2016Thank you for your generous donation of healthy snacks, water purifier, vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies for our classroom! My students are learning the value of eating more nutritious foods and sustaining a clean environment. Clean drinking water is of utmost importance in this day when school buildings have old plumbing fixtures that leak unhealthy chemicals into the water. The vacuum cleaner has a filter on it that keeps dust particles down so that our air is cleaner to breathe. Thanks to your help, we now have healthy snacks to replace the bags of chips and candy bars that the students often bring to school. Daily instruction exposes the students to healthy habits and why they are so important.
Your support has made a wonderful difference in our classroom. The children and I wish to extend to you our deepest gratitude for all your help. Target is so wonderful to our public schools!”

Funded Aug 2, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so very much for contributing to my class. Thanks to your generosity, we now have a new classroom printer, as well as many new supplies to keep our classroom clean and tidy. Our printer will be used every day to print out stories, lessons and our class work. When our old printer finally broke last year, we got a chance to see just how much we depended on having our own printer to use in our classroom. This new printer is a blessing!
Each year we look to the kindness of donors such as you to help provide the necessary supplies we need to make our school year productive. Thank you again for all your help, you are the best!”

Funded Aug 2, 2016Dear Target and Donors,
Thank you for your generous contributions to my students! With your support, they now have lots of new materials to use at psychomotor time, and at recess times. With the new jumpropes, they will have daily opportunities for cardiovascular activity which will strengthen their hearts and increase their lung capacity. With the new boogie boards, hoops and grab ball games, they are working on increasing balance. With the new balls, they are throwing, catching, and participating in games that involve running, dodging and jumping. With increased physical activity comes increased strength. When the body is strengthened, the brain can focus better on the rigorous academics that are taught throughout the day.
My students love their new equipment, and we would like to say once again how grateful we are for your support!”

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my students. Because of you, they now have new tricycles and lots of other toys to play and exercise with. They love, love, love them! Our sandbox is well stocked and the children will spend hours playing with their new shovels, pails and other sand toys. The egg-spoon racing game is helping them to develop fine motor skills. And the pogo jumpers! They are having so much fun with them, while getting aerobic exercise.
Target has been so wonderful to teachers and students. Thank you again for helping us to become fit and healthy through active play!”

Funded Aug 2, 2016Dear Target and Wonderful Donors,
I am writing to thank you and let you know how much your donations are appreciated here at my school! Because of your kindness, we now have new tricycles and toys for our sandbox. These items will be used every day, during physical education and recess times. With items such as these, my students will be able to get more exercise and work towards better physical fitness.
My students were so excited when they saw the boxes being opened and their new toys being pulled out. They can't wait until the time comes for them to go outside and play with their new toys. It is their favorite time of the day.
Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom. Without your support, we would not be able to get these items.”

Funded Nov 18, 2015Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting our class by providing transportation and admission to the Moorpark College Zoo. Our trip was a wonderful learning experience for the children. They saw a Galapagos tortoise, apes, monkeys, tigers, alligators, birds and many many more animals. They were treated to an animal show performed by the students of the Moorpark College Exotic Animal Training and Management program. During this show, the college students brought out many of the animals they care for, and spoke to the children about these animals, their habitats, how they came to be at the zoo, and many other interesting things about the animals.
After the show, the children got to walk through the zoo and view the animals living there. The children were so wide-eyed and excited to see these wonderful creatures. They learned so much, and when we got back to the classroom they continued to be excited about their trip and express what they had learned through writing, art, and dramatic play.
The generosity you have shown with your contributions made this experience possible for my students. Thank you again for all that you have done to support our class!”

Funded Mar 12, 2016Dear Donors,
I am writing today to express my gratitude for your generosity to my students. This project provided a variety of materials that were needed to make the classroom run smoothly, and to provide a calm, yet exciting place to learn.
New cases for our iPads and iPod ensure that these expensive devices remain in good working order for years of future use. Headphones are necessary for quiet use of technology throughout the day. A Voice Booster ensures that the students hear their lessons, which is vital for student learning.
In addition to the above items, the children were so excited to see the many Scholastic DVDs that came. These DVDs contain animations of some of their favorite stories read throughout the year.
Thank you again for your support of our classroom. Generous donors such as you help to make sure that our students have the best possible experiences in school!”

Funded Mar 4, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you for your incredible support of this project. This has been my favorite activity this year. By providing art materials at a center in which students were free to create what they will, I have seen some amazing and creative products coming forth! These students constantly amazed me this year with what they were able to create.
The donation of safety scissors has been such a relief to me. Earlier this year, we had several instances of "exploration" with our old scissors, in which hair and other items were cut which shouldn't have been. I felt uncomfortable having an art center. But, with the new scissors, nothing could be cut but the paper. How wonderful!
With the motivation of science and social studies themes, the children were able to express what they were learning and interested in through their new "Creation Station" as they called the art center. They enjoyed using the materials in the craft kits to design items to give to families and friends. With the new music player, we were able to learn songs and dances, and even perform for our families and school.
Thank you again for making this the best school year!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lacour
