Clean and Comfy Classroom Carpet 2
Funded May 5, 2020I wish to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom! While we are currently doing distance learning, we anticipate returning to the classroom in the near future, and are looking forward to using our beautiful, new, clean and comfy carpet to use.
This carpet will go a long way towards quieting the noise level in the room. It will provide a soft surface to sit on, rather than sitting on the cold, hard tile floor. With the pattern of squares and spaces, the children will be able to remember where to sit in order to keep their distance from each other.
My students are waiting anxiously for the time when they will be able to come to school in person. Thank you for providing an important and necessary addition through this new carpet!”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so very much for your contributions to this class trip project! Thankfully, we were able to take this trip before the COVID 19 crisis began and closed the schools.
It was a wonderful trip! The children were in awe of the theater, sets, lighting, music, and actors! For most of them, this was their first experience seeing a live theater performance. They loved the story of The Velveteen Rabbit, and they were such a good audience! They clapped and cheered in all the right places.
I am so glad that my students were able to experience this trip. With the current social distancing guidelines still in place in California, who knows if when schools will approve class trips again.
Trips such as this are cost prohibited, so we were thrilled when we received the news that our project had been funded. Thank you again for the incredible generosity you have shown in funding this class trip!”

Funded Jan 23, 2020Thank you so much for donating to this art project. With your help, our classroom is now stocked with markers, painting supplies, craft materials, and other art supplies. The children were thrilled when the boxes arrived and they saw all the incredible art materials inside!
Needless to say, art is one of their favorite subjects. There is something about the artistic process, being creative and using your imagination to express your ideas, that both stimulates and calms the mind. This is incredible way to learn. The students are naturally motivated to do it!
Now that we have plenty of supplies, we will be able to integrate art throughout the curriculum for exponential learning in all areas. Thank you again for your incredible generosity!”

Funded Apr 16, 2019Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! Through your generous donations, we were able to take an amazing trip to Discovery Cube Los Angeles! This wonderful children's science museum had so many exhibits designed for children. My students were able to learn about weather phenomena, recycling, and smart technology use in homes and businesses. They also had fun with the Los Angeles Kings Hockey exhibit, and the amazing Wild Kratts Creature Power exhibit!
Field trips are costly, and with your help, we were able to provide transportation and admission to the museum I would like to extend my appreciation for your thoughtfulness in helping us to take this meaningful trip. You are the best!”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for your support of my classroom! With your help, we are now well stocked with disinfectant wipes, paper towels, and Ziplock bags. These items will help keep our classroom clean and organized. We are so excited to have a new vacuum cleaner to keep our rugs and floor clean. And, we are super excited to have hula sets to wear in our dance festival that will happen later this year!
These items are things we use constantly, particularly this time of year when the cold and flu season is in full force. They help to keep germs down and to keep our room clean and make it an inviting place to come to for learning every day.

Funded May 29, 2019I am writing to thank you for your help and generous donations to our classroom! Your contributions have provided an iPad with a keyboard, that we can use at our technology center and with our class Smartboard. With the user-friendly iPad touchscreen, the children are able to easily work with a variety of learning apps. They love using tablets and are so excited when they get their turn to use them. They are listening to ebooks, practicing basic math and literacy skills, learning about science topics, and much more. We are all so grateful to have this technology in the classroom.

Funded May 7, 2019Thank you for your contributions to my students! Your donations have helped to provide a school logo t-shirt for each of my students. We will wear these t-shirts when we go on field trips and for special school events such as awards assemblies and culminating activities.
By each child having his or her own shirt, we will be able to attend these functions as a cohesive group. There is also a safety factor involved, as it will be much easier to find our students while we are outside of school grounds attending class trips to various locations.
The children love their shirts! They feel like they belong together when they are all wearing their shirts. They can truly "show their Mustang pride" with these new shirts. Thank you again for fulfilling this project and providing these shirts for my students!”

Funded May 13, 2019Thank you for your support of our classroom! My students and I are thrilled to receive a new iPad to add to our technology table. With this tablet, my students will be able to work on apps such as the Khan Academy series, Starfall, and the wonderful Avokiddo series. These apps are designed to help children learn fundamental skills such as phonemic awareness, number sense, reading, and much more. The children are motivated because they are learning in a way that is fun for them.
With the current system of student assessment being done almost exclusively online, it is important that children have a working knowledge of how to navigate tablets and other technological devices before they reach the second grade. We are getting a start on this with our tablet center, thanks to your help!

Funded May 9, 2019Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom! Your donations have provided us with an iPad mini and accessories. With this tablet, my students will be able to utilize a variety of apps to help them learn the alphabet, letter sounds, and how to blend letters to form words. They will also be able to practice counting objects, learn number names and increase their overall number sense.
We have a technology station where the students are able to use their tablets for independent practice on core skills. They love this station because the apps are fun and animated. With a sufficient number of tablets, an entire group of children can work at the table while other groups are working with the teacher.

Funded May 7, 2019Thank you so much for your support of our class project! Your donations have provided card stock, tissues, and copy paper. These items are consumable and need to be restocked every year.
My students especially loved the colorful card stock that arrived. We have already used the card stock to make flashcards to help the children learn their "Rainbow Words". We place each unit's sight words on a different color of card stock, in the order of the colors of the rainbow. They take them home, cut them apart, and use them for practice in learning their words. They get so excited when they have mastered one color's words, and are ready to receive the next color.
The copy paper is being used with the class printer, to print out stories, lessons, and a variety of items that need to be printed daily. And of course, with all the colds and cases of flu we have experienced this year, a restocking of soft, soothing tissue was much needed.
