  • Flexible Learning Environment for ELL Students

    Funded Feb 7, 2025

Words cannot adequately express our gratitude for your generous contributions to our Title I classroom grant, specifically aimed at providing flexible seating options for our English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Your support has transformed our learning environment, creating a space where these students feel more comfortable, engaged, and empowered. The ability to choose seating that suits their individual needs – whether it's a wobble stool for focused movement, a beanbag for a calming corner, or a floor cushion for collaborative work – has significantly impacted their participation and confidence. We've observed a marked increase in student engagement during lessons, improved focus, and a greater willingness to participate in group activities. These seemingly simple seating changes have fostered a more inclusive and supportive atmosphere, enabling our ESL learners to thrive alongside their peers and develop their language skills with greater ease.

The impact of your donation extends far beyond mere physical comfort. It has sent a powerful message to our students that they are valued and that their learning needs matter.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nelson

Thank you so much to all donors who contributed to this project. My students are English Language Learners who are eager to learn and come to school every day ready to work! By choosing books that are culturally relevant to my students, I strive to keep them engaged while learning. By expanding the classroom library, I can create an inclusive learning environment that empowers my ELL students to reach their full potential.

Your generosity is so appreciated by my class and by my school. Thanks for all you do for students!”

  • Books for Research: Holidays Around the World

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

On behalf of my English Language Learner (ELL) students and myself, I extend our gratitude for your generous donation to our "Holidays Around the World" project. Your support has not only enriched our classroom but has also ignited a passion for learning in our their young minds.

Your gift has provided us with a diverse collection of books that have opened up a world of possibilities. These texts have served as more than just reading materials; they have become tools for fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and language development. Through these books, our students have been able to: exploring diverse cultures and traditions, learn new vocabulary words and phrases through context clues and direct instruction, practice how to analyze texts and form their own interpretations, and learn to use varied resources for researching a topic.

We are incredibly grateful for your support. Your generosity has allowed us to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where our students can thrive. Thank you once again for your belief in our students and our mission.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nelson

I teach 5th grade Language Arts Inclusion classes. My classes are made up of students who are working at several different ability levels. Our school is in a suburban setting that is located only a few miles from a high-crime urban area. My students face many challenges: many live in single parent homes, many are latch-key children with both parents working, and one third of my students generally receive free or reduced lunches.
