The kids and I felt like it was our birthday...so many boxes of brand new books! The day the books arrived we spent a large part of the morning exploring all the books and planning on who was going to read each one first.
These books were a much needed addition to our leveled classroom library. My kindergarteners were growing readers and I did not have enough titles to keep them engaged during Reading Workshop. The Brand New Reader titles were especially helpful as the books arrived during our character study unit. Students were able to study "Worm," "Piggy," "Otter," and other favorite characters through the series.
These books not only brightened up the classroom library they energized my teaching and gave the students renewed excitement that increased their reading stamina. I can't wait to introduce them to my new group of kindergarteners and I look forward to using these books for years to come.”
