  • Refresh Our Favorite Shared Reading Titles

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

We have had a rough year this year. We have a difficult class with many challenges. I was diagnosed with breast cancer the second week of school which has complicated our year. I appreciate your patience with me and the my students as we have traversed this difficult year.

We greatly enjoyed the new books and other resources we were able to get thanks to your generous donations to our classroom. Many of our books are getting tattered and worn and having these new books made the kids so excited to read them.

They all asked if they could take their copy home with them, but hey were so cute and understanding that future students would also be able to read them too.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andrews

  • Durable, Higher Audio Quality and Books!

    Funded Jan 23, 2022

We can hear our reading now, thanks to our new headphones with a built-in mic. Our teacher has been able to listen to us read while we are not even in school. Thank you for helping us to be better readers.

We can hear our reading and then we know where we need to improve. The sound quality is so much better than the dollar store earbuds that most of us were using. We can also hear our stories easier and these are great to block out the sounds around us.

We were also excited to get new copies of one of our favorite books to read together. The adventure that we have together while reading is so much fun. By having books that are not missing pages and are in good shape we also feel like we should take better care of them. These supplies have enriched our education this school year. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andrews

  • Into the Future! Chromebooks for All!

    Funded Oct 24, 2016

We use our new Chromebooks every day! We use them to write, research and inspire. Since receiving our Chromebooks my students have been so excited to use them in new and inspiring ways. We use them to practice our math and the students are energized by the things they are learning. We write and blog with them so they can share themselves with their families and friends. One student told me, "it is like having the whole world at the end of my fingers."

Many of my students use them to research topics that interest them. "We can find out about anything!" they tell me. I also love to hear them say, "Teacher, did you know..." and "Teacher, I found out that ..." They are excited to learn and grow.

We are so grateful to have these resources in our classroom. The kids tell me at least once a week that they are happy that you would bring the future into our classroom. Thank you for allowing my students this great opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andrews

  • iPad for Learning in the 21st Century

    Funded Jan 4, 2015

Thank you so much for your support of our students. The students were so excited to receive the new iPad, cover and splitter cable.

We have been using it with our latest guided reading books. The iPad and splitter cable allows us to listen to the book being read fluently as we follow along. One student said, "I didn't have to guess at the pronunciation of the harder words, but now I KNOW what the words are."

We have also used our new iPad to allow more students to work individually on research based projects. We have even shared them with other teachers at our school, so that many others have benefited from your generous donation to our classroom

Thanks you so much for helping us achieve our academic goals. .”

  • So the Whole Class Can See

    Funded Feb 13, 2013

Thank you so much for your support of our students. We have used our iPad everyday and love the fact that we can all see what is happening. One of our daily uses is as a monitor.

We believe that students need to be actively engaged in learning, and this allows everyone to see what is on the iPad. We use it to pull sticks and set up groups. We even used it to see where recent earthquakes have happened around the world.

Some times it is fun to do things on your own with the iPad but it has also had a great impact on for the whole class to work together on the iPad.

Thanks you so much for helping us achieve our academic goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Andrews
