The materials that I am requesting for my students would give them an opportunity to read, discuss, and write about high-interest nonfiction texts that are engaging and current. We just need your help in getting these engaging learning materials in our classroom! My student will be able to learn about other countries, cultures, and geographical landmarks while using beautifully made resources with realistic pictures and robust vocabulary. The Content Area Comprehension Passages will allow students to boost their science and social studies knowledge through high interest passages. The Content Area Comprehension Passages uses the passages and questions cards to help guide students to dig deeper into their reading by citing evidence, compare and contrasting, and making inferences. The materials would transition easily between small groups, discussions, and guided reading sessions that would benefit my students understand and depth of knowledge concerning these nonfiction topics. Donating to this project will help improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic meaningful writing through providing nonfiction text to our classroom. The Think, Talk, Write Nonfiction Reading Centers permits a highinterest guided reading experience in which students will think deeply about their reading through discussions and write to enrich their understanding. The final resource is the Small Group Nonfiction Comprehension Folders. This set of comprehension materials can spark students interest with nonfiction passages about sports, music, and the environment. These materials focus on specific nonfiction text structures like cause and effect, compare and contrast, and inferencing. The materials I am requesting for my students are highinterest nonfiction reading that provide level-appropriate passages loaded with photos, illustrations, and graphics to hold the attention of students in the 21st century classroom.
