KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION
Funded Apr 2, 2023The idea of seeing my kindergarteners in graduation gowns has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Last spring my kindergarten team discussed the idea of doing a donors choose project to try to get them, and I was blown away at how quickly our projects were funded.
The looks on the faces of my students was incredible. Their faces lit up, their eyes got big, and they were so excited to try them on. They were even more motivated to practice their graduation songs and walk and perform for their friends and families. Our graduation celebration was incredible. Teachers, parents, and students were so proud. We got so many compliments about the graduation, and we would not have been able to do it without your kindness and generosity. Your gift will make kindergarten graduation a memorable time for Ancient Lakes kindergartners for years to come. Please know that you are truly appreciated!”

Dealing With Complex emotions.
Funded May 4, 2023Thank you so much for your help in purchasing our books for dealing with complex emotions. This set has given me tools to focus on and teach about emotions and feelings to my kindergarteners. This is so important because often our children are feeling these big emotions, but they do not yet understand what they are or how to handle them. These books do a great job of explaining and giving examples of when these emotions and feelings might arise.
I use these books during my Social Emotional Development classroom time, and also as read aloud books. My students enjoy listening to the stories, and even ask if we can read our "feelings books."
Again, thank you so much for helping me to add to my classroom library. These books will touch the lives of so many students this year and for years to come!”

Mrs. Kondo
Explore, Discover, Experience, Learn!
Funded Oct 4, 2014I cannot explain the excitement in the little faces of my students when I showed them our new mini iPads. They were very excited to use them, so we used them as a literacy center the very next week. These mini iPads have allowed me to give my students even more exposure to using technology, while practicing their math and literacy skills along with other foundational kindergarten skills. We've been able to implement these mini ipads into our daily routine of literacy centers, use them for extra practice for students who are below grade level, and to challenge students who are above grade level. I can find an app for anything that I need my students to work on. This project has given my students new ways to practice a multitude of skills in a different way, and the best part is that they are having fun! Thank you so much for your support, and for making a difference in the lives of my students this year and years to come.”

Kindergarten Artists
Funded Jul 9, 2014I cannot explain the excitement in my students' eyes when they walked into the classroom to new easels and paint supplies. Our morning was thrown off, and all day long my students just wanted to look at, touch, and pass by the easels any chance they got.
My students are getting to paint at least once a week. They paint during free choice, sometimes they illustrate a poem, or paint the letter of the week and something that starts with that letter. These easels are reinforcing what I am teaching in class and helping build their fine motor skills. They are also learning responsibility by following our painting rules, cleaning up after themselves, and patiently waiting for their turn to paint.
Thank you for giving me the resources to improve my teaching, and helping me to make learning fun. You have made a difference in the lives of all of my students for years to come, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kondo
