I have read a log of blogs and articles about the benefits and success of students with flexible seating. I decided that I wanted to implement this into my classroom. I want to provide my students with a choice of seating and flexibility in the classroom. Not all students can stay focused sitting at a desk all day long. As teachers we want the students to be comfortable and want whats best for them to succeed in the classroom as learners. While doing research about flexible seating it shows that movement helps with cognition and emotions. It also gives the students choice. I am requesting some flexible seating options for my classroom. I am requesting wobble chairs for students who have a hard time sitting still in their seats, wobble cushions for students who choose to sit on the floor and work, sit spots for whole group instruction and lap desks for students to move around the room.
