Funded Mar 17, 2021Thank you for generosity and making an impact in our preschoolers education. Due to the pandemic we were unable to use our carpets, the yoga mats were a great way to get our preschoolers moving and out of their desk. We were able to use the yoga mats during relaxing time, the students enjoyed laying on the mats and listening to calming music. We were also able to do yoga exercises which included stretching and deep breathing exercises. We discussed the importance of stretching and slowing down our minds. Students loved yoga time, they specially loved being able to take their own yoga mats home at the end of the school year. Once again thank you for your support.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020Thanks to you, our stories and nursery rhymes have come to life with engaging visuals for our students. Distance learning has been a new experience for all of us, but our students are engaged in rhyming and singing along with the help of our felt board. The kids enjoy singing "old Macdonald had a farm" with our new felt storytelling puppets. I utilize the story wands after read aloud to engage students in literature comprehension questions. I utilize the magnetic alphabet pictures every week to review our letter of the week. Students love the visuals. Some of our students are English learners or have a speech and language impairment, the visuals have been such a great help, with language development. Thank you so much for your support and care toward the education of our young learners.”

Funded Aug 3, 2020Thank you so much for your support toward the education of our preschool students. With your help, I was able to purchase resources and visuals from the TPT Teacher's Pay Teachers resource website. We have used this materials to make distance learning fun and engaging for our students. We have used tpt materials to facilitate activities such as virtual scavenger hunts in which students look around their household to share something that makes them feel special or items of a specific color. Students have so much fun with these activities. I have also been able to purchase digital instructional materials that facilitate math and literacy skills. An example of an activity is counting and placing the specified amount of pepperonis on a pizza, as well as sorting and classifying objects. These digital materials have enhanced our distance learning experience. I also used the TPT card to purchase worksheets which students complete as homework, which is perfect for independent work. Thanks for all your support.”

Learning I Am!
Funded May 27, 2020Thanks for your support towards preschool education. We have been able to introduce new literacy lessons with the materials we received, thanks to you. As part of our distance learning this year, we include daily read-alouds. Students enjoyed listening to "What I like about me!" big book. Together, we explored our different physical characteristics and learned that each one of us is special. Students were able to share something special that they like about themselves.
We have also used our "Best Behavior" bilingual book collection to introduce appropriate behaviors in class and at home. Students particularly enjoyed "Hands Are Not for Hitting/Las Manos No son Para Pegar" We discussed some of the ways we can use our hands in a positive way, such as waving, drawing, and making something nice for others.
Story wands have been a success during distance learning instruction. At the end of our daily read-alouds, we utilize our story wands, to discuss the story which we just read, questions include: Who are the characters in this story? What is the story about?and What was your favorite part? Story wands are very colorful and students enjoy participating in answering the "magic" questions. Overall, the materials we received have helped spark student's interest in literacy. We are very grateful for your kindness.”

Funded Jan 22, 2019We greatly appreciate your contribution toward the education of our diverse learners. Students were really excited to use the sensory cushions on the carpet. The cushions has helped our friends with sensory needs to be able to remain focused and participate during large group carpet activities. These have made a great impact in our classroom.
Students learn best with visuals and sensory activities. Students enjoyed creating art projects using the sensory foam paint. Some of the students shared how much they love the colors and how fun it is using the foam paint while finger painting.
Students continue to work on their math skills by sorting shapes and identifying different shapes in our environment, such as the ones in the sorting shape activity, you greatly made available to them. Some of the students do not have access to these materials at home so it is important to expose them to different type of experiences in the classroom.
In social emotional development, students explored and discussed different emotions. Students are learning calming strategies such as breathing, counting or listening to music when they feel upset, angry or sad; Students engaged in feeling recognition by using their face expressions while looking at themselves on the mood mirrors.
Students also loved the circle time chart, which provides them with visuals and opportunities to recognize d the days of the week, literacy and counting opportunities. We use the chart daily and facilitates working on various skills. As we move on toward the end of the school year, students will continue to use materials and continue working on their social emotional, math, art, and literacy development skills. You have made a great impact in the lives of these children. We greatly appreciate your support.”
