Pre-K Lights Up as We Learn!
Funded Jun 30, 2019We LOVE the light table. It is amazing. We have been practicing to learn each other's names and this table made it even more fun. We used the sensory rings from a different project that was funded and we printed photos of all of our friends. We then dig through the rings to find a match and read the name on the card. School is fun and so is learning. We are also learning how to sort and how to begin to make and add onto patterns. The light table makes learning so much fun and exciting! Thank you for all of your support.”

Funded Mar 22, 2019I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the ongoing support I have received In getting materials I need for my Pre-K classroom. My students absolutely LOVE the puppets and one student told me she is trying to create a puppet show for the class for next week. You see, we have been doing these shows in class and it has really helped with their retelling of books and in their expressive language skills. In addition, they have been having so much fun playing the hamburger stacking game and with the alphabet floating bubbles. I am planning on creating a matching game board that they use to match the letters and place on the game board. Then as they become more advanced I will have them match the upper and lowercase letters and finally match the letter to a picture that begins with that letter. I know this will take time, but I plan on creating this over the Summer. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Nov 30, 2018My box finally arrived today! I was so excited to open it and try it out. It lights up perfectly and my students waited in such joy to see my write my name in finger paint. Tomorrow we will be able to use and to practice correct letter formation! I hope to make letter writing fun and meaningful and I really believe this is the perfect tool to do the task! PreK is full of so many opportunities to teach and guide them through their interests. Writing their name became mundane and boring. But tomorrow things will change. I am going to predict that this will become our most popular center. In addition, this is going to make painting even more fun than our regular art easel. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I can't wait to upload photos so you can experience he joy for yourself. Happy Holiday!”

Lighting Up in Pre-K Part 1!
Funded Dec 27, 2018We absolutely LOVE the Space Saver Art Center! It is the perfect height for the children to create their masterpieces. In addition, the storage racks underneath the easel are a perfect place to dry out works of art. This is now one of the most popular and favorite centers in our room. It is inspiring each of my students to use their imagination to create beautiful pieces of art. We display this work throughout our room and we want to thank you for this gift. Your continued support of my class and our learning is greatly appreciated. We hope that you will enjoy seeing some of our masterpieces when we post photos of them. Thank you so much!”

Once Upon a Time in Pre-K...
Funded Nov 16, 2018Having my project fully funded fills my heart with such joy. My students are amazing children who love to learn. We are working so hard getting ready for Kindergarten and retelling old favorite books is an important skill necessary in Kindergarten. The story telling globe was a huge hit and I'm so happy I got two of them. We have been singing The Its Bitsy Spider and You g the pieces as a visual. In addition the props for retelling Polar Bear Polar Bear What Do You See? are making retelling the story even more fun and engaging my class. Thank you for helping to instill. Love of learning in my students and helping to prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond.”

Funded Sep 20, 2018Our items arrived today!!! I am so excited because they came a day early! When I brought the box in and opened it up the children were so excited! We already took out the cash register and we had to make a wait list because everyone wanted to use it during centers. Tonight I laminated the dollar bills so that they would last longer. I am really looking forward to using the new timer tomorrow so that the children can have a visual for how long until it is their turn. I can't decide which item I am most excited about because everything is so amazing and is going to help to make the connection to their life. When we make the coins and they get to purchase items I really hope that they learn the value of things. We already read the books and had great conversations about the difference between a want and a need. Financial Literacy is a challenging topic but I believe that these items are going to not only help teach the value of money but most importantly, it will be taught in a fun and hands on way! Thank you so much for making this possible!”

Funded Sep 2, 2018Our materials arrived yesterday and the excitement that filled the room was amazing! Some of the items are a little too advanced for my students right now. But, I know that after the holidays when they grow a little more it will be perfect. We already started to use the Blocks and Blueprint learning center. What is great about this item is that it has different ability levels. This is an item that can be used throughout the year! I used the Motion Discovery Tubes to introduce calming down techniques and then a few children started to make their own calm down sensory bottles. We referred to the Motion Discovery Tubes to determine how fast or slow they wants the items in their own sensory bottles to flow. I can't wait to use the magnets during our unit of study in the middle of the year. Thank you again for all of your support in my classroom and in the education of my students.”

Funded May 29, 2018We are having the best time building with our new Legos. I am enjoying watching them use their imagination to build buildings and use the animals and people to pretend they are on a farm. I am amazed at how creative they are and how each of them are working together and sharing the pieces. I have two boys of my own who always LOVED building with Legos and it is nice to be able to relive those happy times with my class. Today some of my students actually created a stable for the animals and used pieces from some of our other sets to create a town. Their imagination and creativity is blossoming! But most of all...they are problem solving at a young age and they don't even realize it. This is a skill that so many adults struggle with and here my Pre-K children are successful at it. Thank you for your support and dedication to education and to my classroom. I can't wait to share pictures of their creations.”

Funded Jul 12, 2018Thank you for your support of my music project. The new instruments have made a tremendous impact in my music center. The children love the bells and the new tambourines. The shelf that they are on is absolutely perfect. It helped to create an inviting place to store the instruments. The shelves are the perfect size to hold the baskets making it easy for them to reach the instruments. My next step will be to try and have the children march around the classroom making music and singing some of our songs. Music is so important and I am happy that my new center is being used by the students.”

Weather or Not...Puzzles or Story Telling?
Funded Aug 29, 2018What a difference new puzzles can make for a center! The wooden puzzles are perfect for the tiny hands of my children. So far their favorite puzzles are the boat and the airplane. As they put together the puzzles they have been sharing about their vacations and fun experiences. The weather bear is a huge hit during our morning meeting. We have a little difficulty dressing the bear but they are all learning weather words and what to wear in each type of weather. Next week we are going to create a class graph and vote on the name for this special bear. The board books are great for introducing the weather vocabulary. One student even went to the book to show the picture because he couldn't remember the word for fog. Thank you for the support you are continuing to give me so that I can create this amazing learning experience.”
