I would've never believed it if I didn't see it myself: six year olds coding programs like professionals working at Apple or Google! During Hour of Code week at code.org, I introduced my students to coding. All of my students, regardless of their academic prowess or ability to focus their attention on a daily basis, are superstars at coding. Not because they get everything right the first time, but because they are excited to learn from their roadblocks and challenges. These six-year-olds collaborate like adults who are running a business. A student's success is an opportunity for one to teach and one to learn. The roles are constantly evolving. "Can we code today?" is the sentence I most hear in my classroom since that first day. The Ozobot tools will allow my students to not only use technology to create code, but will allow them to run their mini robots according to this code that they have created. They are so excited to move from the 2-dimensional characters they have been coding, into the world of 3D!
