  • Keep Our Devices Charged!

    Funded Nov 14, 2024

Thank you for supporting our classroom. The charging cables and power strips will make it so much easier for us to keep our devices charged. This will guarantee that my students will be able to use their devices regularly for individualized instruction, helping them improve the skills they need to improve in. Thank you!”

  • STEM for Struggling Readers

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

My students absolutely love sitting in the foldable seats while reading their new leveled readers. The seats give my students an added incentive to read silently during our daily silent reading time. Because we only have three of them, I choose different students who are reading silently to use the seats each day. The books have given my students more opportunities to read books that are at the right level so they can not only read the book but also comprehend what the book is about.

My students were also excited to use the different STEM related kits we received. They loved trying to build their own robot with their group.

Your generosity has helped provide my students with more opportunities to practice their reading as well as incentives for them to do so. Thank you for your contribution to our classroom.”

  • STEM Bins for Future Engineers!

    Funded Apr 25, 2019

My students love the STEM Bins. They were so excited when I brought the STEM Bins out for them to use. For our first experience using the STEM Bins, I asked my students to build a bridge with their table partner. My students thought they were playing and didn't realize that they were learning...learning about engineering and teamwork. They were so interested in using the STEM Bins that they didn't complain about not being able to choose their own partner. Some pairs had disagreements about how they should build their bridge, but with a little guidance they were able to work together to compromise. My students love the STEM Bins and I love how they provide opportunities to bring engineering concepts into our classroom lessons while fostering opportunities to learn how to work as teams. Thank you for your contributions to our classroom.”

  • We Want to Stay Healthy So We Can Learn!

    Funded Jan 13, 2019

Thanks to your generosity, my students have been able to stay active and healthy. We've had a lot of runny noses here due to colds and allergies this year, but we have plenty of tissues to keep our noses clean and clear. Hand sanitizer and bleach wipes have helped keep our hands and desks as germ-free as possible. My students especially love the hand and kick balls. Our previous playground balls were losing air or about to pop. These new balls came just in time AND they are different colors than the ones the rest of the classes have so we don't have any issues with lost balls. Thank you for your contributions to our project and your support of our classroom! We greatly appreciate it!”

  • Meet Me on the Rug

    Funded Feb 15, 2019

We have carpet in our classroom, but we needed a rug to give us somewhere specific to sit during lessons, while reading our books, or while we explore engineering concepts using our STEM materials. This rug has definitely given us all of those things. My students enjoy sitting on the rug during lessons. It makes the floor just a little more comfortable. The rug is not quite large enough for us all to sit on, but my students now know that they must sit on the rug or close to it during our whole group meetings and lessons. Before getting the rug, my students would be sitting all over the floor. This rug gives us our meeting place. Thank you for your generous support.”

  • STEAM Motivates Us to Learn!

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Your donations have benefited my students in more ways than I can describe. We now have 2 more laptops so more of my students can use them for research or to play educational games at the same time. The Lego Kit has helped my students develop a greater interest in technology and engineering. They already enjoy building with Lego sets, but adding motion to their creations is something that they absolutely love. The Keva planks have sparked their interest in designing and building structures, especially on rainy days when my students have not been allowed to go outside to play. The measuring tools, including weights (grams and kilograms) to measure mass and liter and milliliter containers and measuring spoons to measure capacity, have been helpful for our math lessons on mass and capacity. The pencil sharpeners have helped us sharpen more pencils much more quickly. We have been using the glue sticks during Art lessons. Recently we completed a 100th Day of School art activity. My students used the glue sticks to glue their drawing of what they think they will look like when they are 100 onto a background paper. We are incredibly grateful for the items we received as a result of your donation. We use these items nearly every day and remember how fortunate we are to have received donations from generous donors like you.”

  • We Need Somewhere to Sit!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Your generous donation allowed us to furnish our school computer lab with new chairs. All of our students have the opportunity to benefit from your kindness when they visit the computer lab during their scheduled time. Our computer lab now has safe, comfortable chairs. We no longer need to hunt down extra chairs or worry about old chairs breaking or pinching the skin of our students. Your donation has also allowed our students to sit in comfortable chairs in the computer lab during state testing. Again, thank you for you donation.”

  • STEM and Coding in the Classroom

    Funded Oct 9, 2017

Thank you very much for your generous donation to our class project. My students were very excited to see all of the materials we had donated. They cheered when I opened the box.

The materials we have received are being used in our class to help my students build both their love and understanding of STEM. We are using the various building kits to start learning about engineering and what role it has in our society. Dash and Dot, robots that we can control using an iPad app, have been their favorite by far. My students get so excited to be able to use them. They are even willing to take turns with Dash and Dot. The materials and projects we can do with them have also helped my students work more cooperatively.

My students have become much more interested in Science and Technology since receiving our materials. We will continue to use the materials throughout the school year to build our knowledge and understanding of STEM concepts. Thank you again for contributing to our class.”

    Mrs. Fortuna

  • Get Cozy With Technology!

    Funded Oct 27, 2016

Thank you so much for your contribution to our class. My students have truly enjoyed receiving the iPads and the cushions.

Prior to your donation, we had three beanbag chairs that my students needed to share. That basically means that they would get to use the beanbag chairs about once a week during our silent reading time. Now that we have the additional cushions, 13 of my 21 students are able to grab a cushion or beanbag and find a cozy place in the room to read during our silent reading time each day. They really like this because it allows them to sit somewhere other than their classroom chair during part of the day.

The iPads have also been a hit in our classroom. They have allowed me to introduce a new form of technology to my students. We already have a few laptops, but the addition of the iPads has allowed more of my students access to technology on a daily basis. Additionally, we have been able to use some educational apps that are not available on the laptops. A few of the apps that we use give my students access to books that I don't have available in my classroom library. We also have an app that the students can use that allows them to read informational articles and take a quiz to check their comprehension of the article. My students have really enjoyed access to the new apps.

Thank you again for your contribution. It is truly making a difference.”

  • Technology in the Classroom Times Two!

    Funded Oct 23, 2015

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. Our new projector and document reader are great. We use both of them every single day. We use the document reader when we are correcting worksheets together or when we take notes in our notebooks. We also use the projector to project our lessons for math, language arts, and science. Having the projector allows us to use the different components that are included with our various programs more easily and frequently. Additionally, as we use the document reader and projector for our lessons, my students become more familiar and comfortable with technology and see the different ways that we can use them not only in our classroom, but also in their daily lives. My students, as well as myself, are excited to use the document reader and projector and discover the different features that they both have, such as the zoom in and out capability, that make it easier for me to share information with them and easier for them to see.

Your contribution also allowed us to give our old projector and document reader to another class. Unfortunately, within a month of giving our old projector and document reader to them, the projector stopped working. Hopefully we will be able to help them get another one in the future. They were very excited to have received our old one.

Again, thank you for your contribution. We greatly appreciate your generosity.”
