  • Comfortable Carpets For Kindergarten

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Happy Monday to you all! Our new carpets arrived a few days ago to our joy!! I cannot tell you how excited we all were in L-1 and K-2 to receive our beautiful new colorful and more importantly spacious carpets!

The children now have plenty of room to spread out and focus on loud daily earning activities instead of being squished together on the foam puzzle shapes we were using.

Your generosity is so very much appreciated. The children in K-1 and K-2 are loving their new cozy, comfy carpet and it's all thanks to your donations.

Please know you have made 48 Kindergartners and 2 teachers so extremely happy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

  • Kindergarten Busy Bees

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to our project. Starting a new reading program means lots of new reading and writing resources for our kiddos to explore and learn from.

We are always grateful for the support we receive from our wonderful community of donors.

We know we are very blessed.”

  • Keeping Color In Kindergarten

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Having color materials for the children to use in reading and math centers has been such a valuable resource. Color illustrations makes such a difference in their comprehention and learning.

The children also get so excited when they recieve certificates for learning and they are bright, beautiful and colorful. Their Lexia Superstar certificate photos are full of happy proud faces holding their bright colorful certificates. We will also be able to print their Kindergarten Graduation Diplomas in color so they can keep them forever.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

  • Let's Get Charged Up

    Funded Oct 13, 2022

The kids in both of our Kindergarten classrooms were so excited to receive the ipad charging stations and the ipad charging wires. This is the first year we were provided with class sets of ipads and keeping the organized and charged up is so important to our learning. The children are able to work on such programs as Lexia to practice their reading skills and iReady to work on math concepts. They look forward to having independent time to work in these apps during the day.

Thank you again for always supporting our Kindergarten students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

  • Preserve and Protect Our Learning

    Funded Apr 4, 2022

Consumable materials are so expensive between paper, ink, crayons, markers and everything else that goes along with having engaging activities for early childhood students.

Having a means to use these activities not only multiple times with multiple students in the same classroom but the ability to use them again and again year after year is such a blessing.

The laminating pockets allow us to protect the paper activities from tearing, spills, rambunctious hands and just wear and tear after multiple uses. The dry erase markers allow the kids to self correct their learning and make them accessible for everyone.

    Thank you again!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

  • Star Books Make Star Readers

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Nothing helps young readers develop a love of reading faster then spending time with their grown ups reading familiar stories they love. These wonderful storybooks like Three Billy Goats Gruff, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Corduroy, Caps For Sale, etc are excellent for the development of reading comprehension, story retell and all of those Kindergarten objectives- the kids just don't realize it. Think of it like sneaking vegetables in their fruit smoothies!

Thank you so much for helping get these amazing books into the hands of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

  • Creative Critical Thinkers in Early Childhood

    Funded May 5, 2021

Once again I can not thanks all of you very generous donors for contributing to this project. The children were so excited to not only receive these materials but to be able to use them everyday to foster their learning and to be as successful as they possibly can be. With our early childhood learners materials need to be durable and easily replaceable because let's face it, little people aren't always the most gentle when playing and exploring and learning. These materials gives us the freedom to explore away and replace items as needed! As it should be.”

  • An Apple (Macbook) For the NYC Teacher

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I cannot tell you how excited I was to receive my brand new shiny MAC BOOK Air! I will be honest, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. As a traditional Windows user the first thing I did was to I immediately have my 21 year old daughter give me MAC lessons. I have to be honest, ever though I've had an iphone and iPad for years this MAC Book was definitely intimidating. But I am am so excited to learn all of the ways the MAC can benefit my teaching and my students.

Thank you again for your continued generosity.”

  • Making a Home Into a Classroom

    Funded Nov 10, 2020

To just say Thank You is never enough for all of the continued support you have shown to the children in my PreK classroom. With these uncertain times the possibility of needing to switch from in person to remote in a moments notice is a very real concern. Having the materials needed to teach lessons successfully at school and at home is a problem. Obviously we cannot carry everything back and forth on a daily basis. This project gave me the ability to have some of the more important tools replicated at home. Thank lifts a huge weight off my shoulders.”

    With gratitude,

  • Flexible Seating in PreK

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Back in August when I was told that our 2 year old carpet in our classroom would have to be thrown away I was devastated. What would my kiddos sit on? They can't sit comfortably on the cold hard classroom floor! But then I found these scoop seats. I knew they would be the perfect thing for my PreK kids to use each day that would be comfortable and easy to keep clean. We have enough for each child to have their own plus extras around the classroom for our library center and listening center. The kids love them and I do too!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patricia Kelleher

I teach 18 wonderfully inquisitive 3 and 4 year olds in my PreK class in Flushing NY. We have a full day from 8:20-2:30. Our classroom is extremely small so I do my best to maximize the space we have by utilizing all areas for multiple activities throughout the day. My students, ranging from 3 1/2-4 1/2 years old. They come from all over Queens NY and are at various developmental stages. I have many students that english is not their primary language. My students are funny, happy, and are adjusting well to what is a whole new experience for them. We are excited to have a wonderful year of friendship and learning.
