Sensory Play!
Funded Aug 8, 2024Word cannot express my gratitude for your donation. My students were so excited when we received our donations! They absolutely loved the sensory bin and the materials that go in the bins! The two bins have been able to be used for literacy and math. My students love finding the letters in the bin and numbers! Its something we use every day and will use for days to come! The pencil holder has been a great add to our classroom. Students know exactly where to go when they need a new pencil and it keeps us organized! The paper cutter has been helpful for me to cut strips of paper daily for their crafts! Thank you again for these donations. I know they have had a huge impact on helping my students this year and for future years.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020Word cannot express my gratitude for your donation. My students were so excited when we received our donations! They absolutely loved the books and I still reference them even though we read them weeks ago. Lucy's Mask is a wonderful book that explains how they are superheros by wearing a mask. I often remind them to be superheros like Lucy and always keep their mask up. My Mouth is a Volcano is also a favorite! I teach first graders so they often have a lot to say! If they start trying to tell me a story that has nothing to do with our learning, then I remind them that their mouths are volcanoes and to hold it in until an appropriate time. They understand and often say "ok I'll tell you later." Thank you again for these donations. I know they have had a huge impact on helping my students this year and for future years.”

Keep Us Organized!
Funded May 14, 2018My students were very excited to receive their new clip boards and bins now that they have a place where they can store all their stuff! They were so excited to organize their materials in their new bins and spent a lot of time making sure all their materials looked nice and neat in their new bins. Each bin holds all their math and writing supplies. With the new bins, there is a lot less lost papers and more time to learn! The clip boards have given my students the opportunity to choose seating on the floor. They are learning to choose seats where they will be successful in their own learning and loving the independence!
I know organization seems like a little thing, but in the grand scheme of things, it's a huge thing! The more organized my classroom is, the quicker the students can transition from one activity to another and the more learning we get to do. I have much more instructional time and less distractions. The kids' learning is going through the roof! Thank you so much for your donation! I couldn't do what I do without you!”

Maximizing our Learning through Choice Seating!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Words cannot express my gratitude for your generous donation! My students were so excited when I told them about the new donation to our classroom. They couldn't wait to to start using them! I was able to find a floor table so my students could begin sitting on the floor using the pillows as they work. Although I only have 5 pillows to start with, the change in behavior was astonishing! As I'm in my reading group, I am looking around the room to see all students engaged! More students were on task and completing their work than ever before!! Even the 1st graders who are coming up to 2nd grade next year are excited to use the pillows and stools. I can't wait to share them with all my future classes!”

Funded Feb 14, 2018Our new Ozobots are a huge success in the classroom! My students began right away learning how to program the Ozobot to follow a track. After they learned how to make tracks for the Ozobot, I started to incorporate the Ozobots in centers. Now my students get to play a game I call "Beat the Ozobot". My students first have to design a track for their Ozobot. Once their track is finished, they have to race the Ozobot to the finish line. The Ozobot just follows the track while my students have to complete addition and subtraction problems which is building their math fluency! They've had so much fun racing their Ozobot! I can already see my students becoming critical thinkers as well as team players! They love to cheer on their classmates as they race the Ozobots! Thanks again for helping me provide this new piece of technology in my classroom!”

Funded Feb 2, 2018My students were so excited when the easel was delivered to our room! I set the easel up after school and decided to surprise them the next day with a little note. The beautiful new easel and note were a great way to get our day started off right! We used the easel right away with place value practice. My students loved coming up to write on the new easel and couldn't wait for their turn! We also used it for oral language practice. We wrote our sentences on the chart paper and my students were able to point to the sentences as they practiced. This amazing easel is just what my students needed to become more engaged in their learning!”

Motivating Magazines
Funded Mar 29, 2017My students were so excited when the first scholastic news arrived! They couldn't wait to to start reading them! We read them weekly to learn new information and new reading skills! Currently, we are learning about text features in non-fiction books. Scholastic news gives my students lots of opportunities to learn the text features and how to understand non-fiction books! This also provides my students with an opportunity to practice fluent reading. The more my students are reading the the scholastic news over and over again, the better reader they will become. Scholastic news has given my students a reason to be excited for reading! I can already see the difference in my students!”
