"You cannot predict the outcome of human development. All you can do is like a farmer create the conditions under which it will begin to flourish." Ken Robinson. My class is the result of California Senate Bill 1381 which changed the entry age of Kindergarten and created Transitional Kindergarten classes. All of my students were 4 years-old when the school-year started, but my class is not pre-school or day-care. Experts say Kindergarten is the most important step for children because it sets the educational foundation for the rest of their lives, but they are wrong. Today, Transitional Kindergarten fills that role. The TK class is filled with new challenges, not only because the children are younger, but also because the program has no history. We will be making history and that is very exciting.
