A Place at the Art Table
Funded Dec 23, 2019I'm so very grateful for these six beautiful new tables to create our art projects on. In the last month, we have drawn and painted and created clay sculptures on these tables. The cleanup is quick and easy and the students can move around more easily in the small room. I no longer hear " I messed up because the table was shaking." A problem we had with the old tables, because the legs weren't sturdy. In addition, they have helped with my classroom management greatly. The tables have different colored legs, so I just quickly call on the color of the table to follow instruction such as, "green table, finish cleaning up your table."
The very best part of these tables is that students can sketch their ideas on them with dry erase markers because the table tops are dry erase boards. They see this as a great opportunity to work out ideas before they use paper. It also serves as an incentive for the students to free draw on them when they are finished with their art projects.
The students were surprised when they first saw them in the room. One student immediately said "look you can write on these, isn't that dry erase board?" Another, just simply said "wow." Thank you so much donors.”
With gratitude,

Funded Oct 23, 2019Thank you so very much for the Ladybug that helps us see the fine details.
My students can see so much more from their seats, now that the ladybug document camera magnifies everything on the Promethean Board for them. I no longer hear the words, "I can't see," when I'm demonstrating texture or line or crosshatching or simply sharing the illustrations in a book.
The ladybug lets everyone see from anywhere in the classroom and allows for the students to follow along with me in their drawings. This is especially helpful when I am doing a directed drawing, in which the students draw at the same time as me. I also love that I can film lessons ahead of time so that I can freely guide the students while the video is playing. It's made such a difference in my teaching and helped so much with student learning. I feel las though I reach every student in my classroom now. Thank you for making this possible, Chevron.”
With gratitude,
