Thank you so very much for these 4 new Lumix FZ80D cameras. The addition of these cameras to my classroom has allowed me to assign a camera to 8 students in my class. These students are thrilled not to have to share the cameras as well as being able to use the special features these cameras have, like better depth of field, macro setting and a stop motion setting (a recent discovery in these cameras.)

I have seen some students go from passive learners to excited about learning photography because of all the new features these cameras have. For example, a student in my Photography 2 class was thrilled to use the camera's stop motion setting and so when he did his stop motion animation and used this setting his movie came out much sharper and steadier than the one he did last year on his phone in my Photography1class. It was nice to see how much he had grown from one year to the next and how proud he was of his new film.

I love how most of these students have a camera assigned to them. It makes all the difference in the flow of my class and student learning. Thanks again.”

  • Claymation Stations

    Funded Jul 23, 2024

Thank you so very much for your contributions to Claymation Stations. The students have started creating clay pieces out of the new colorful modeling clay and building the light boxes. They are incredibly excited to start their stop motion videos with their clay pieces as the main character for their stories.

A photography student has already started making a stop motion film as a practice for her Claymation video to come. "Can I start the stop motion film, Mrs. Gonzalez?," she said excitedly. Her stop motion film will serve as a guide to the students when they create their own stories in their Claymation films. The balanced light in the light boxes and the stable cameras on the tripods will help their clay pieces come to life and make their films professional looking. This will give them confidence and pride in their work and inspire them for future video projects.

Thank you so very much .”

  • A DSLR Camera Click

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you so very much for our Canon DSLR camera. It has been instrumental in teaching how light is measured in a camera as well as opened the door to new and exciting photography projects that we could not do before in our other point and shoot school cameras. We have done light painting photography with this new camera. Light painting can only be achieved with a dslr camera. In light painting photography, the students have written and drawn with flashlights in a dark room with a long exposure that this camera provides.

The students also find the fact that they can change lenses and view the aperture inside the lenses and the mirror in the camera so interesting and has greatly helped in their understanding of how light is measured in a camera.

    Thanks again.”

  • Art Cab

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you so very much for the beautiful and very useful art cabinet. The students loved all the little drawers when they first saw it and were thrilled to open and close them. They also love how it matches the furniture in the room, " you should put the orange table next to the new orange cabinet, Mrs. Gonzalez," one of the students said.

I love how I can now send students to get scissors and other art tools in the orange cabinet. I no longer have to get the tools for the students. Almost all the tools are now, with in easy access to their work areas.

    Thanks so much.”

  • iPad, Photo Journals and Action

    Funded Jul 24, 2023

Thank you so very much for our photo journals and the beautiful IPAD. My middle school photography class has done so much more because of this IPAD and journals.

The IPAD has helped the students research famous photographers as well as upload pictures and recorded school events with ease. It has made teaching photography and technology so much easier and simpler for me. The students no longer have to struggle with school laptops for uploading their pictures for review because the IPAD's airdrop feature makes this aspect of my class a lot easier for the students to do so.

Also, students use their photo journals to record class notes, place printed pictures in them and reflect on their photographs. The best part about these photo journals though, is that they are their own and will serve as a record of what they did in photography class for years to come.

    Many, many thanks.”

  • Lights, Camera, Click

    Funded Jul 24, 2022

Our new photo corner with a light studio, color photo printer and light box has been such a blessing for our new middle school photography program.

The photo studio is giving our photo students a firm understanding of light and how it plays a vital part in pictures. They have made long exposure portraits, product photographs and even a portrait of the school's assistant principal. They have seen how light and where it is placed can make a big difference in a picture. I have also seen how students more interested in the technology part of photography bloom in the light studio.

The color printer has also been wonderful. Students' faces light up when they see their printed picture. These prints are great for student reflections in their photo journals as well as group critiques. Also, we have printed many for district exhibits and class bulletin boards. Thank you so much! You have made a world of difference to our photography program.”

  • Two Tables for the Other Side

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so very much for these tables for the other side. The students and I are so grateful. They love coming to art and using their expo markers to sketch out their drawings on the tables. These tables with their beautiful colors also lift up our spirits. I also love how clean and sanitized the room looks because of the white marker board tops.

Thank you again our art studio is now beautiful, even more clean and complete . Our art learning will be wonderful this year with these tables that give the room an art studio feel.”

  • The Sketchbook Project

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so very much for these sketchbooks. Our second and third grade students are currently using them to create their art projects and sketches for the school year. The books keep them and me organized and excited about creating in them. They're very proud of their books and so very glad that it's their own "art book."

Our next lesson will be on the color wheel and we will record our color wheel in their sketchbooks. They will then be able to refer back to the color wheel in their own sketchbooks. Thank you so much donors!”

  • Tables for Two?

    Funded Nov 4, 2020

Thank you so very much for the three new tables to complete the art studio look in my classroom. My students love the new colors of the tables and I love how beautiful the room looks.

Students are so much more motivated now in this new art studio environment that the new orange, tan and yellow tables created. "I love this orange color, Mrs. Gonzalez," a student said. The tables have also provided a teachable moment. Just the other day, I was discussing the primary and secondary colors with them and a student called out from the new yellow table, "look, I'm in a primary color table." Also, these tables have a white dry erase board surface which makes them easy to clean and sanitize and allows for students to draw in their free time on them with a dry erase marker. Now all students can enjoy drawing on the table they sit in.

Thank you so much donors, you have helped us distress during this COVID 19 pandemic school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gonzalez

My students need new, sturdy, art tables to maximize the small classroom space, allow for flexible seating and table top steadiness for creating their art projects. I would love to transform my classroom into an art studio setting for my little artists to learn, create and explore. Currently, I have old tables of varying sizes and heights in a small classroom space. There are days in which I teach about 36 students for an hour in this room, weekly. The current tables create a difficulty for my students in passing out supplies, and does not allow any movement for them to explore the art room, because of the clutter of the large and small tables in a tight space. It is also difficult to erase, draw and build without wiggling the tables and causing unintentional lines and shapes in their drawings and projects. Clean up is also difficult with limited space to move. I’m hoping to replace all the different sized tables with 6 new, medium sized, color coded tables with sturdy legs. These new tables will open up the art room and create a wonderful space for them to learn and explore.
