Investigating Through Technology
Funded Nov 26, 2019We are so blessed to have a new laptop, group of flashlights, computer microphone, lantern, and a lock. The laptop is the most amazing gift! The students work on lessons in the program iReady, research topics on the AL Virtual Library, play educational games, and read ebooks or articles.
The microphone has been a lot of fun! I have hooked it to the interactive white board in our room. When the students are working, I hook it up to an interactive program that tracks noise levels. The students love this, because it uses fun graphics, such as emojis or bubbles, to show that they need to quiet down or stop talking.
We also LOVE our flashlights and lanterns! As a reward for behavior/grades, the students get to have some "flashlight free time". When this happens, I turn off the class lights, hand out lanterns and flashlights, and students can read and/or draw. Since our new lights have come in, I've even passed them out for the students to work on their morning activities like cursive and a morning work booklet.
My class and I are so thankful for your generosity!”

Going for the Technology Gold
Funded Oct 11, 2017First of all, thank you so much for allowing my students the opportunity to have this MacBook to use everyday. The majority of my students do not have a computer, tablet, or any type of electronic device they can use for educational games, typing practice, e-reading, research, or using word processing/presentation programs.
The most exciting part of our new MacBook, is that our school has no Apple products, except for a few iPads. For our purposes, iPads do not allow students to play instructional games, play videos from our class blog, or maneuver many apps we use daily.
All of my students are thrilled and excited about our MacBook. They are especially excited to start creating iMovies of their very own. These movies will be displayed for the school on our digital sign and class blog for parents and students to see! Thank you very much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jones
Readers Are Leaders!
Funded Dec 4, 2016Imagine being a third grade student in my classroom. Your day begins by diving into one of the thousands of books stored in every crevice, bookshelf, bucket, and empty spot available. You have hundreds of different levels, genres, categories, authors, illustrators, and even eBooks within your fingertips. I know this sounds amazing, and because of you, THIS IS MY CLASSROOM!
Your generosity, has given us a new set of biographies, four cozy reading camp chairs, and more than enough cubbies to continue adding books to our class library. The students spend most of their day begging for their opportunity to lounge and read. They also use the fidget balls and stretchy bands to help focus during reading.
Reading is not just a subject anymore, it is truly the basis of every subject and piece of the learning puzzle. Thank you for putting these resources in our classroom.”

Mrs. Js' Shining Stars need a Lenova Laptop
Funded Oct 21, 2015Words cannot express how grateful we are for our Lenova Laptop. My children now have another opportunity to enhance everyday learning. We use technology in almost every aspect of the day such as: blogging, assessments, research, eBooks, and many more.
My students are most excited about having another way to explore the world without leaving the classroom. Many do not even have Internet at home, so this is the only way they can experience being a 21st Century Learner. I have seen my students yearn for new knowledge, discover new places, and see things they many never see in person through this Lenova Laptop.
These students are our future leaders. With your help, you have brought this technology to our fingertips. You have truly changed the lives of my students. Thank you so much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jones
