• Powering Up Robotics in Middle School

  Our classroom was overjoyed to receive the new rechargeable batteries. They work perfectly with our Hummingbird Robotics Kits, allowing us to display our work throughout the day without having to worry about changing the batteries.

• Crochet Club for Middle Schoolers

• Celebrate Student Success With Candy and Squishmallows

  Funded Mar 4, 2024

  I appreciate your donations to this project. My middle schoolers need extra incentives to stay on task and keep motivated throughout the year. They enjoy candy and prizes. Every two weeks I do a drawing and chosen students can select candy or a squishmallow to take home.

  This project has helped supply my classroom with enough candy and prizes to help me continue to do these drawings in all 7 of my classes. The students loved seeing the new selection of squishmallows that were delivered.

• Retro Gaming in Middle School

  Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. The students are so excited to put together these kits. I cannot wait to see what the students design using the program. They will apply their computer science, design, and coding skills to make fun arcade games

  These kits allow students to design a game and download it on their devices. I would like to have them showcase their games with students who are not taking computer science to help encourage others to sign up for my classes. I appreciate your support and I am thrilled to have another resource for my middle schoolers to use.”

• Steady Stop Motion

  Thank you to everyone who helped fund this project. This equipment has changed the way I am able to teach Stop Motion in my Digital Arts classes. The students were so excited to try out the new phone stands and the lights. They did a great job setting up and taking down the equipment at the end of each class.

  The students were able to use these stands to work in small groups and film their paper stop-motion movies. They worked very hard and put a lot of effort into their projects. Thank you for choosing to support technology here at Edna Hill.”

• Creative Art Projects in Computer Science

  Thank you for contributing to this important project that supports all of our computer science and digital arts classes. We have been using these materials this quarter for all of our physical computing projects. The students love having access to a wide variety of crafting materials and supplies when they are designing their displays and robots.

  So far my students have created mini golf course holes and stop-motion animation videos. These projects would not have been possible without donors like you who contributed to the essential materials. Thank you so much.”

• Crafting Supplies for Computer Science

  These supplies are essential to our computer lab. We use them to build interactive displays and projects. The students truly appreciate your support because it helps make learning fun for them. Without these supplies, the lessons that I could offer would be less engaging for my classes.

  The students are using these supplies as we begin some of our robotics and coding lessons this year. My classes will construct pets that move and light up. We will also be making light-up houses. Thank you for allowing these middle schoolers opportunities that will spark an interest in tech and design.”

• Quilting With Fabric and Lights

  I am so happy that this project was funded. These supplies will be used to teach a group of students how to sew and add LEDs to projects. My students last year used some of these and I am planning to teach several classes using these materials this Fall.

  I am so thankful to everyone who donated. You have given us access to all of these resources. I will use these in my digital arts and computer science classes this year. I know the middle schoolers at our school will be so engaged when using these materials to learn how new technology works.”

• Diversity, Creativity, and Robotics in Middle School

  Funded May 10, 2023

  My students love using the new robotics kits. I was able to introduce them during my Girls Who Code Club. The girls found them easy to use. I allowed each group to build an animal and then add lights and motion to it. One girl decided to build a scene from Harry Potter. I would not be able to easily introduce so many design and computer science concepts without this project being funded.

  I look forward to using these kits again this year with my students. I know that my classes will come up with some creative projects and I cannot wait to see what students make.”
