• Supporting Struggling Readers During Covid-19

  Thank you so much for donating to my project. Because of the materials I received, my intervention students were able to increase their reading abilities through systematic and explicit instruction that met them at their ability level. It has been so exciting to see the students' faces light up as they realized that they are able to successfully read text!

  The Spire materials have been especially useful in organizing small groups of students and teaching them necessary reading skills. These materials allow me to reach the students and help them grow!”

• Gross Motor Toys For Active Recess Play

  Thank you so much for the new recess toys and the storage to keep them safe and secure. My students are getting so much more out of their recess time with these new toys for building their gross motor movements.

• Colorful Ink for Colorful Kids!

My students were so excited whenever they were presented with a new game, poster, picture, or certificate (although there favorite thing to look at was definitely the pictures of themselves)! • Help Us Become Art Smart!

  My students were so excited to receive the new art materials! They have been busy making amazing creations since our package arrived and it is so inspiring to watch them learn creativity, collaboration, and communication through visual art materials. We have made giants as we've learned about storytelling, fish as we've learned about living things, and fluffy white clouds as we've learned about the weather. • Gross Motor Toys for Active Recess Play

  Thank you so much for providing outdoor recess toys for active recess play! The students were so thrilled when they saw the new toys for recess and have been actively engaged with them ever since. It is so gratifying to watch them build their gross motor skills, communication skills and confidence through play every day at recess and to see their recess play become more purposeful and engaging. Even on the coldest of days the students are so excited to run outside and start working and building their muscles. Thank you so much for making that possible!”

• Learning About Science and Engineering Through Ramps

  Thank you so much for helping my classroom to explore Next Generation Science Standard K-PS2-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to compare the effects of different strengths or different directions of pushes and pulls on the motion of an object. As well as Standard K-PS2-2. Analyze data to determine if a design solution works as intended to change the speed or direction of an object with a push or a pull. My students were so excited when we received the materials and they have been engineering ever since!”

• Colorful Ink for Colorful Kids!

I have been able to use this resource to print out colorful books, games, resources, and photos for use in the classroom and in class portfolios. It has made such a difference to my students to be able to interact with colorful, vibrant classroom materials. • Promoting Tolerance Through Flexible Seating

  Thank you so much for providing our classroom with flexible seating. Seeing the ways in which other children learn will help my students develop tolerance for other children and their developmental needs. Children (especially young children) need to see that others are different from themselves and that differences are okay. Thank you so much for providing me with a way to support and celebrate those differences and for helping me improve the learning of all of the children in my classroom. All of my students love the new Hokki stools and think they are the best thing in the room!”

• Listening Center for Tolerance

  Thank you so much for providing a listening center for our classroom! Research has shown that children need to listen to stories being read by a capable reader in order to develop their own ability to read with fluency and expression. At our new listening center children are developing this skill along side the important skill of tolerance as they listen to stories about individuals and cultures outside their own. This is very important to my students as they develop empathy for others along side their reading skills.”
