Keeping It All Together
Funded Aug 4, 2021Thank you so much for your donation of book bins, clipboards, pencil pouches, and basic daily supplies. Each student has been provided with these items so that they are able to keep their supplies handy and organized. It has especially helped those students who may have struggled with keeping their desks tidy in the past. I have also found that having the bins has made transitions between subjects go more smoothly quickly, and efficiently.
When I first introduced the use of book bins, my students were so excited and eager to use them immediately. Gathering the bins and returning them to the bookshelf has been a great way to prepare and close our day. Students seem to take more ownership over the bins since they sit on their desks throughout the day.
We are so thankful for your donation and support!”

Basic Back to School Supplies for Distance Learning
Funded Sep 9, 2020My students and I are so thankful for your donation. Their eyes lit up when they saw the personalized clipboards, pocket-sized sketchbooks, notepads, colorful gel pens, mechanical pencils, and fun erasers. Having these items make distance learning a little easier when you don't have to worry about having the supplies.
The pocket-sized sketchbooks and clipboards will be used for science observations and explorations. During this time of online learning, I will be encouraging my students to observe the world around them and take a break from the screen. These items are perfect for a student on-the-go. I am looking forward to seeing what my students will discover in the world around them.”

Funded Aug 4, 2020I am so thankful for your donation. We were desperately in need of a book collection that demonstrates inclusion and diversity. Because of your donation, our need was fulfilled.
This year we started school virtually. I never thought I'd have to teach students that I had never met in person. Building a community in our virtual classroom was more crucial than any other year. Books that demonstrate diversity and inclusion opened the door to rich conversations and moments of bonding. It also allowed the students to see themselves represented in characters we were reading about. The students were able to see that the differences among people are celebrated. Many of the themes of the books also taught about kindness, perseverance, tolerance, and friendship just to name a few.
Adding these books to my collection allowed us to learn the basic standards but also some meaningful life lessons along the way.”

Teaching Through Technology
Funded Jan 3, 2012The interactive tablet has been a great asset to our classroom. Students were so excited when they saw it. They seem to be more excited about learning, are engaged, and, most of all, it brings them closer to meeting the required standards. The tablet is assisting in closing the technology gap.
The interactive tablet has many uses in the classroom. It has allowed students to see, hear, or retrieve information at a swipe of a finger for research projects, social studies and health. Books have been downloaded, read or listened to, which helps to increase reading comprehension skills. Also, the interactive tablet helps as a presentation tool and has increased student engagement. The uses for a tablet are numerous it can be used for every subject from mathematics to art to physical education. So thankful for your donations.”

Funded May 14, 2019Our "Let's Get Flexible" project has been a big success with our classroom. The students' faces lit up when they saw the wobble cushions, stools and yoga balls arrive. They couldn't wait to get the flexible seating in place.
The first week every student had the opportunity to to test each option and see which seating worked best. It was wonderful to watch students make responsible choices and figure out where they could do their best work.
Flexible seating is being used throughout the day while students are working independently, in partners or in groups. During independent reading time students especially find it helpful. This type of seating allows the students to find a space where they are able to stay focused and be comfortable at the same time.
Thank you again for helping our classroom grow with flexible seating!”
