  • Teaching Through Updated Technology

    Funded Nov 15, 2024

I am so thankful for your generous donation. The new Mac Mini in my classroom has allowed me to share the latest videos, apps, and programs with my students. As you may know technology is a big part of our everyday life. Unfortunately, technology is easliy outdated within a year or two. The previous desktop I owned would no longer load current district applications or programs. Now we are up to date .

Sharing the screen with my students is simple and easy with the Mac Mini. No more are the days of us waiting for my outdated laptop to load. Students are excited about the lighting speed of our new Mac Mini.

Thank you so much for bringing us up to date in technology.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

  • Back to School Supplies

    Funded May 10, 2024

On the first day of school, my students were so excited to receive their brand-new supplies for the start of the new year. There is no better way to start a new year with everything you need at your fingertips. Many of my students have not used a supply bin system. They were so excited to implement the bin system. It keeps all their supplies organized. No longer are my students stuffing their desks full of random items. They know precisely where their folders, notebooks, writing supplies, scissors, and glue are. The bin system allows for all items to be in full view. Once again, thank you for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

  • Let's Get Organized and Flexible

    Funded May 10, 2024

Thank you for your donation! It's donors like you who help provide some of the ancillary items a teacher like me may like to have to start the new year. Having organization tools such as desk bins and pencil pouches helps make daily transitions run more smoothly on a day-to-day basis.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

  • Cozy Calming Corner

    Funded Oct 24, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom calming corner. It has been a wonderful addition to our classroom. Before our calming corner, we completed several Social Emotional Lessons. Now students have a safe calm space to help self-regulate and process big emotions.

Students were so excited to see the comfortable log stools, books, fidget toys, coloring pages, and soft stuffed toys for cuddling. They were especially excited about the canopy. It makes the corner more inviting. It also provides some privacy yet has transparency.

Thank you so much for providing this much-needed space!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

  • Publishing in Color

    Funded Jul 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to provide a color printer for my students. For many years my students were only able to publish their writing in black and white. With your donation, students can now bring their published writing to life with a color printer. Adding color to student writing projects will motivate and encourage students. Just the addition of a color printer can help foster a love of writing for many. Adding color to fonts and pictures to their writing brings them so much joy.

Thank you again for helping bring this simple technology to my classroom.”

  • Back to School Supplies

    Funded Apr 28, 2023

My students were so excited to see their brand-new supplies on their desks on the first day of school. We put it all to use right away. The students love their personal headphones for listening to their favorite books. They were especially excited about their personal supply pouches. The pouches help to keep their crayons, pens, tickets, and scissors tidy in their desk bins.

Other items purchased with your donation will be used throughout the year. For example, the dance scarves will be used to get students' bodies moving during a brain break or for an inside PE lesson. Lastly, the cups will be used for science lessons. Thanks again for your donation and for helping make my classroom feel more complete.”

  • Listen and Learn

    Funded Jan 17, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to my "Listen and Learn" project. My students were so excited to receive the earbuds and cases.

Technology is such an integral part of the classroom. Having earbuds for each of my students allows them to work independently on various reading, math, science, and art programs without distractions from their classmates or outside noise. Also for my challenged readers or newcomers having earbuds will help bring them to the next level of language and reading.

Thank you again for making this possible for my class!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

  • New Students, New School Year, New Supplies

    Funded Jul 11, 2022

We are thankful for your donation of our new supplies for the new year. Every single item purchased with your donation will be used throughout the year.

My students were so excited to start the new year with new supplies. The pencil pouches will help students keep all their necessary supplies in one place. The whiteboard clipboards will be useful to answer questions quickly and immediately. The clipboards will also allow students to do work on the carpet or where a desk is not available.

The student's faces lit up when they saw the fun smelly erasers, highlighters, and gel pens. Although these items are not necessary it helps keep the students engaged and makes school just that much more fun. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom.”

  • Gather Around!

    Funded Jul 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation of our classroom rug. The students were ecstatic when they entered the classroom and saw the new carpet at the front of the classroom. The rug we had previously, was well-worn and needed to be replaced desperately.

The classroom rug is where all of our lessons happen. We gather on the carpet for read-alouds, math warmups, and reading and writing mini-lessons. Students are well aware that when we gather on the rug for learning it is time to focus. The classroom carpet also allows students to cozy up with a book during independent reading time. Often students also play math games with a partner on the rug.

The classroom carpet is truly the center of our classroom that will get great use this year and beyond. Thank you again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jacobs

Our school is located in an urban center in Southern California. We are a Title 1 (Socio-Economically Disadvantaged) school, and a majority of our students participate in the free lunch program. We have a very nice, tight-knit community with parent and neighborhood involvement. I have 31 energetic 5th graders who are eager to learn, especially if it involves technology. Math is just about all of my students' favorite subject.
