Accessable Speech Therapy Classroom
Funded Oct 18, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of supplies to our speech and language program at The Hungerford School. As an educator working with special needs students in a low-income community, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that these resources will have on our students' learning and development.
Our speech room serves as a safe space where children with a range of communication challenges—such as speech delays, language impairments, and social communication difficulties—can work on improving their skills. Many of our students face significant barriers to success, not only because of their individual needs but also due to the financial constraints that limit access to essential learning tools. Your support has alleviated some of these challenges and provided our students with new opportunities for growth and achievement.
The supplies you provided, including [list specific supplies if known—e.g., picture cards, educational games, tactile tools, books, etc.], are already making a remarkable difference. With these materials, we are able to create more engaging and interactive lessons that help students strengthen their ability to communicate, express themselves, and connect with others. For example, the visual aids have been especially effective in helping our nonverbal and minimally verbal students express their needs and emotions more clearly, while the hands-on materials have allowed us to develop creative, individualized activities that meet their unique learning styles.
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of this donation is the way it empowers our students. Many of them face daily challenges that can make learning feel overwhelming, but having access to these new tools has given them a renewed sense of confidence and excitement. We have already seen improvements in their ability to sequence stories, engage in social conversations, and use language to problem-solve. These skills are crucial for their success both in and out of the classroom, and your contribution is helping to pave the way for their future success.
On behalf of our students and staff, I want to thank you again for your incredible generosity. Your donation is not just a gift of materials; it is an investment in the lives of children who are working hard to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. With your support, we are one step closer to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or abilities, has access to the resources they need to thrive.”
With gratitude,

There's More Beyond the Reef.
Funded Jan 26, 2024On behalf of everyone involved in our school's production of Moana, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation. Your support not only helps make our play possible but also enriches the educational experience of our students.
Thanks to your contribution, we were able to bring the magic of Moana to life on stage, by purchasing costumes, background decorations and special equipment for our students to participate.
Your generosity not only supports the arts but also empowers our students to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop important skills that will serve them well in the future. Your donation has a lasting impact, helping to foster a love for theater and providing valuable opportunities for our students to grow and learn.
We are truly grateful for your generosity and dedication to enriching the lives of our students. We can't wait for our show in May!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Devlin
iPads to Provide Access for Students in Wheelchairs
Funded Feb 5, 2015Thank you again for your donation to our project this year. Through our funding, we were able to purchase 3 iPads, covers, and a color printer. These additional tools that we have for use in our classroom, have tremendously enhanced our ability to teach our students with multiple learning styles. We have also incorporated the use of technology by using the Splashtop App on the iPads. Using this app, we can all see and access the images that appear on the SmartBoard via the iPad.
Thank you to all who were involved in these amazing endeavors. Stay tuned for more to come next year from our outstanding students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Devlin
