On the Road to Successful Remote PreK Learning
Funded Dec 1, 2020The new materials that my prek class received for this project have helped us work remotely and in our classroom.
The "Circle Time Center" has helped me with the continuity in our daily routines. It has helped our class move from remote to in person instruction. The prek students love talking about the weather, counting out the gum balls, talking about the letter of the week and learn the days of the week.
The sight word magnets have helped my prek students with their reading skills. My prek students each received new crayons, a bottle of glue and a new writing journal to use in their homes when we are teaching remotely.
My prek students have really enjoyed all the new materials during this very challenging school year.”

Funded Nov 22, 2019My prekindergarten students love their Weekly Reader magazines. We received a year of exciting and colorful weekly readers. Each month we get packets of student weekly readers and a coordinating big reader for the staff.
We read the magazine as a class. The students love having their own copy of the big reader. Students get to follow along with their own copy of the reader as I read the new story.
The readers have taught us about the seasons, holidays, animals, proper dental care and fire safety. These weekly readers have helped me plan interesting science and social studies lessons for the class.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our prekindergarten classroom.”

Pre-K Math Is On The Move!
Funded Nov 6, 2019My prekindergarten students use their math cart, aka Building Blocks supplies everyday. The cart is full of Building Blocks math manipulatives, games and activities.
Each day, during center time, students may choose and activity from the cart. Students can find new activities each day that relate to our Building Blocks math mini lesson.
One of the enclosed photographs shows 2 of our students looking for numbers in the number pockets on our chart. The students will use these numbers for a math game.
The cart has allowed students to work independently and move the cart and the math supplies to different parts of our classroom.
As always, we would like to thank our donors for their continued support of our prekindergarten activities.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018The writing and literacy materials that you have donated to our PreK class are being used in many areas of classroom. Students use these writing materials to work independently in the writing center. They practice writing their names, draw pictures and make"mail" for their families. Students have also used these writing resources to create drawings and pictures for our classroom and hallway displays. Students now have individual journals to write in each month. This always us and their parents to see their progress throughout the school year. Thank you again for your generous donations to our classroom.”

The Pom Pom decorations have each child's name on them and are displayed with their first PreK creation. Thank you for your generous contributions that helped make our classroom a look welcoming and friendly for all to enjoy.”

The students are using these materials to differentiate their shapes and colors. The students are creating colorful projects, including colorful self portraits. The students loved creating these projects. The students proudly displayed their artwork for all in our school to see.
The math manipulatives and math games have added so much to our math center. The students are able to work independently or in small groups in their math centers. Funded Jun 2, 2017Thank you so much for your generous supply of art supplies. Our Prekindergarten class loves working with their new play dough, craft tapes and fall crafts.
Each day, the students select the play dough they wish to use and create sculptures, animals and various shapes. Working with play dough helps the students develop their fine motor skills. Working with play dough also helps the students use their imagination and express their creativity.
The craft tape is helping the students add detail to their art pieces. The Prekindergarten students also use the colored craft tape to hang their own work up in the classroom. We also use the colored tape to define areas in our classroom. This is helping the students become more self sufficient and organized in their centers.
Thank you again for funding our project. Your generosity is greatly appreciated !”

They used the materials to create neighborhoods and castles. They also use the materials at center time, to create buildings, parks and gardens.
We have a weekly engineering contest. Students pair off and choose their engineering materials. They build, design and create amazing things. Then, they decide which team created the most interesting design. The students have a lot of fun during our weekly engineering contests.

Funded Jan 22, 2016You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile
This donation of toothpaste, toothbrushes and holders, has been wonderful for my students. Some of my students come from homes where dental care is not a priority. Having these resources has allowed me to teach many dental care lessons, then send home the materials the students need to take of their own teeth. The students have had lessons on brushing, flossing and eating healthy foods. Each student has taken home a new toothbrush and toothpaste tube on a regular basis. This, along with our class lessons on dental care, ensures that they now have the tools and knowledge to take care of their own teeth. Our next step, is to help other students learn good dental care.
Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom.”
