  • Music Is What Feelings Sound Like

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our class project, "Music Is What Feelings Sound Like".

The portable CD/ Bluetooth speaker has added hours of music to our classroom and our outdoor playtime. The students love to listen, dance and sing in our school playground.

The Quiet Time CD brings soft and relaxing music to our daily rest time. The students enjoy listening to the new CD. The Scarf Time CD leads the students in fun and creative activities in our classroom.

Thank you for allowing my students to express their feelings through music and dance. They really enjoy their new classroom donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burke

  • There's No End to Imagination in the Kitchen

    Funded Feb 11, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom project. The students love playing with the Melissa & Doug Ice Cream Counter, Diner Restaurant Play Set, The Thirst Quencher Dispenser and Coffee Set.

The Diner and Ice Cream Counter became centers in our PreK classroom. The students loved pretending to work in the ice cream store and diner. They learned how to count money, share and clean up.

The BBQ and coffee set went into our Dramatic Play Center. The students pretended to BBQ dinner for their families and make coffee drinks for their friends.

Thank you for these fun and creative new toys to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burke

  • Baby It's Cold Outside !

    Funded Jan 13, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations to our class project. This project was inspired by the book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett and the students in my class who did not have their our pair of mittens.

Our school is a Title I school and many of our students come from low income families. During the coldest part of the school year, we realized that many of our students did not have gloves or mittens for their little hands.

The mittens provided by this project gave each child in our PreK program a pair of warm mittens. Students were able to pick out their own new warm mittens. We also read the story "The Mitten" in class and created a mitten inspired bulletin board.

Thank you for your continued support to our class projects.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Burke

  • Healthy Brains and Full Bellies

    Funded Dec 23, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations to our project and for your patience with our thank you letter and gratitude photos. This year our students ( & staff ) were affected by Covid.

Soap and hand washing are such an important part of our school day. Now, more than ever, we need to reinforce good hygiene with our young students. The hand soap donation was a great help to our classroom routines.

The popcorn, pretzels and cheese snacks were a big help in providing snack each day. Many of our students depend on the food that our school provides each day. These snacks give them another source of food each afternoon.

We thank you for your continued support of our classroom projects.”

  • The Power of Play

    Funded Nov 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our "Power of Play" project.

The materials that we received from this project have created hours of fun for our PreK students.

The liquid sensory viewers, all about me mirrors and color mixing glasses have been added to our Quiet Area and our Science Center. Students use these materials to explore their environment and for calming down in the quiet area.

The textured pillows and spray, squirt & squeegee play set have been added to our Dramatic Play area. The students use the pillows to relax on the couch and the pretend cleaning supplies are a fun and engaging way to "clean" our pretend area.

Thank you again for your generous support of our classroom project.”

Thank you for your generous donations to our reading project. Your donations allowed us to purchase an annual subscription to Scholastic "Weekly Reader" for our PreK class.

The Weekly Readers are bi-monthly magazines that the students can read and complete fun activities. The best part of the weekly readers is that each student gets their own copy that they can take home and share with their families.

Our weekly readers cover current social studies & science topics that are fun an engaging. We have read articles on animals, our families, holidays, weather and the four seasons.

    Funded Apr 16, 2021

Thank you for the generous donations to our classroom. The materials from "Bringing the Beauty of Nature into the PreK Classroom" have helped my students in so many ways.

The students loved the Butterfly Garden. We observed the caterpillars and butterflies. We had a Butterfly picnic and released over 12 butterflies. It was a beautiful day !

Our class grew vegetables and plants in our classroom windows. The colorful sand was added to our sand box and they play with the therapy sand everyday.

The outlet plugs, adhesive block labels, hook fasteners and name tags are all great organizational supplies for our classroom. They also keep our students safe.

The students love the soft bassinets for their dolls and the Dreamland CD helps them unwind at rest time each day. The birthday badges and stickers from this project are a great ways to celebrate special occasions and successes in our classroom.”
