  • Creating A Garden in Pre-Kindergarten

    Thank you for your generous donations to our "Creating A Garden In Pre-Kindergarten" project for our classroom. The individual green house boxes and soil will be used in the spring to create boxes of flowers for our loved ones. The seeds will be planted in the soil and the students will get to take care of their own flower and vegetable gardens. The beautiful green house boxes will be placed in our sunny windows and watered daily by our students. Our discovery center has many plants in the window that our students take care of every day. The root box will have soil and seeds planted in it to allow students to observe the seeds germinating, the roots growing and the plants growing.

The materials in this project have provided my students with quiet spaces, fun activities and new skills. The rugs are a beautiful addition to our quiet area. The serene and soft leaf pattern is perfect to cuddle up in each day. The hula hoops are fun to play with in the schoolyard. The materials in this colorful art materials project have been a wonderful addition to our art center. The students can now sort their colored pencils and crayons by color. The small journals were added to each center with crayons. Students can now "write" about their thought and ideas as they work in each center. The students love to color and write in the small journals. The students also enjoy organizing their crayons and colored pencils in the art center.

  • Colorful Sensory Tools in Pre-K

    Thank you for your generous donations to our "Colorful Sensory Tools in Pre-K" project. The colorful sensory materials in this project are now in various centers in our classroom. The sequin pillows are the students' favorite huggable item in the calm corner. The students love to weight & measure class materials with their new blue scale in our toys & games center. Our sandbox now has colorful funnels and clear measuring cups. We also have new pop it counters and rainbow cups for our discovery center.

  • Color Our World

    Thank you for supporting our "Colorful " PreK project. The bulk box of Crayola Crayons has provide crayons to almost every center in our room and to every student. We use the crayons with our writing materials in each center. Students can "write" and draw at each center using their new colorful crayons. Each student also received new crayons in their crayon baggies to use for the independent work

    The colorful yarn has allowed our students to create beautiful twig weavings. The students use the the yarn to weave in and out of branches to create amazing works of art. This project helps students develop their fine motor skills.

  • Where Words Leave Off, Music Begins

    Funded Sep 3, 2024

    Thank you to our generous donors to our Music PreK project. The various materials in this project have provided many useful materials to our Music Center. The CDs are used during rest time to give our students a peaceful and relaxing rest time. The books and CD collection provide musical stories to listen to during story time. The books are fun to sing to and learn new songs.

    The small wooden book shelf is providing storage for our "musical" books and board books in our library area. The students love selecting books from the new shelf.”

Our school is a very large elementary school. There are over 800 students. My class of 18 prekindergarten students are culturally diverse and many have limited resources. Many of my students speak a second language at home. My students enjoy playing building and working in small groups.
