  • Bridging Learning With Anchor Charts

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

    Thank you for your donation to Escuela Vieau. Our student's have used the chart paper to create anchor charts and enhance their everyday learning and capture their thoughts, ideas, and all the learning that occurs in the classroom.

    Our school has a large English Language Learners population and in our bilingual classroom we used the chart paper to further develop their multilingual skills by referencing key vocabulary and academic language. Our multilingual learners used the chart paper to visually bridge the two languages through contrastive analysis.

    The chart paper was also used as a teaching tool to helps students visually capture important information, differentiate instruction and engage students in the lessons. Thank you-gracias for helping us provide access to learning materials. The chart paper has positivetly impacted teaching and learning at Escuela Vieau. Thank you so much for your contribution!”

  • Bilingual Books for Social Distance Learning

    Thank you-Gracias for your generous support. There are no words to describe the smiles in my student's faces when they received their care baskets. I hope you enjoy the photos! The care baskets were filled supplies, learning materials, magnetic board, alphabet and bilingual books. Your donation allowed me to purchase bilingual books for my students. As you may know, many of my students and families do not have access to many books and bilingual books are very difficult to find. Some of the books in the project included traditional folktales, First 100 words and other favorites; all in Spanish and English. The books encouraged my students to continue exploring and learning from home. I used the books to supplement the activities and lessons I delivered during distance learning.   • Little Bilingual Explorers

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

    Thank you-Gracias for your donation. With your generosity, my students now have access to engaging materials for hands-on learning this school year. My young explorers use the light table for exploring as they use all their senses for learning. They use the light table manipulatives to learn about colors, letters, numbers, and shape in a new and engaging way. The light table is truly one of their favorite learning centers to explore each week.

    The dinosaur bones matching and measuring set have also complemented our exploring centers. Students have been learning about matching and measuring skills, while at the same time grown their interest for dinosaurs and scientist concepts.   • Social Emotional Learning Space

    Thank you-Gracias for your support and generosity. Your donation to my Social Emotional Learning project has contributed to my student's social emotional learning and classroom environment. Your donation helped transform our safe space in the classroom, which is a thinking and calming space for students' self-regulation skills. This area is also the classroom library and is a safe environment for students to play, learn and grow. The books and social emotional materials really complimented our social emotional/ safe place area.

    Our students have used the materials and safe place area to understand and manage emotions, gain empathy for others, and build relationships. The variety of social emotional books along with the tree bookshelf has made this area the student's favorite place in the classroom. The books, mood and emotions mirrors, match up puzzles have helped the students learn about emotions and gain self-control.   • Play & Organization!

    Thank you for your support and generosity. Your donation to my Play & Organization project, has contributed to student learning classroom environment. Thank you for the classroom materials and the two shelves for organization. We really needed our shelves replaced, as they were broken and worn out with the years. We use the classroom shelves to organize our classroom materials and play areas. This has really complemented our classroom environment and learning.

    Thank you for the color copy paper as we constantly use it for communication with parents and families. Every month we use the color paper for our bilingual classroom newsletter. The people and face shape templates have enhanced our Social Emotional learning in the classroom. Students have used these templates to learn about themselves, their feelings, and how they are all unique and special. The students use the dough rollers when they learn and explore in the play dough center. All the classroom materials have enhanced our learning, classroom environment, and have facilitated communicating with families. Thank you for your support.”

  • Bilingual Engineers

    Funded Apr 25, 2018

    Thank you-Gracias for your donation and for supporting my Bilingual Engineers. I still recall the student's expressions and their excitement as we opened the boxes with the new classroom materials. My tiny engineers use the materials to explore engineering concepts, expand their creativity, and make creations out of a variety of materials. My students use the house building kit, architect fairy tale engineering kit, and Bristle Builders to build structures and houses. We also use the fairy tale kit and integrate it with literacy, as we explore and build the homes of traditional tales such as the Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The project also included a Community Building set that consist of blocks, vehicles, and buildings that make up a community. The students truly enjoy their new classroom materials.

    Thank you for the counting and mathematical boxes. The counting manipulatives have become essential materials for hands on exploring and developing counting and sorting skills. The barn and farm animal collection have become one of the classroom favorites, as children use their imagination to explore and learn about farm animals. The pocket charts complement our classroom learning, as we them on daily basis to learn letters and for storytelling.

  • We Play, We Learn, We Stay Healthy!

    Thank you for your support and generosity. Your donation of basic classroom essentials has helped my students continue to learn and stay healthy in our classroom. Thank you for the glue sticks, dry erase markers, chart paper, and disinfecting wipes. These are all materials my students use on a daily basis and we thank you for your donation.

    My young explorers use the glue sticks on a daily basis as we incorporate art and fine motor activities into our daily learning. We practice coloring, cutting and gluing almost every day and your generosity has helped us to continue doing so. We used the dry erase markers to draw, and practice writing skills on white boards, easels, and laminated pages. Thank you for the disinfecting wipes as we use them for daily cleaning of our tables, chairs, and toys. Your support has helped students continue their learning in a safe classroom environment.
