Funded May 17, 2020Thank you for helping fund my project. This Google Pixelbook has helped my students immensely. It has given me the opportunity to meet with them virtually. I am also able to post different activities for them to do at home. For example, they are able to do mindfulness activities, yoga videos, and create artwork. These are all activities to help my students relax and alleviate stress. In addition I can take my students on virtual field trips. We have seen the fireworks at Epcot center, visited the zoo, and rode a rollercoaster.
The most exciting part of this new product is being able to virtually speak with my students. I can see them, and they can see me! We get the human connection of being able to see and speak to each other. In addition they are able to see and speak with their classmates during a google meet with me supervising. Many students haven't been able interact with their friends during this stressful time.
Many of my students have started using more technology. They have learned to post their work on google. They have joined our evening dance parties. We have played family feud, and had a pet parade. This technology has been immensely helpful and giving me the opportunity to reach out and connect with my students.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for your generous donations to my project. My students were surprised and excited to see the bean bag chairs and pillows in the library. Thanks to your generous donation they now have a special place where they can sit and read. This helping to foster a love of reading in my students.
In addition to using the pillows and chairs for reading, the furniture is also used during small group instruction. Every student loves using the chairs that we have to rotate them so everyone gets a turn. My students always remember the last time he/she got to use a bean bag.
Finally, the students love using the mini easel during small group lessons. Using the pillows and bean bag chairs I am able to join the students on the floor with the mini easel for small group instruction. During these lessons the children are less distracted and are excited that their teacher is sitting on the floor with them. Thank you again for your generous donations.”

Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you for funding my first donors choose project. As the supplies began to arrive at school my students became very excited. They were eager to use the fresh new paints and paper. One student even exclaimed that she felt like "a real artist". They were even excited about the brand new books, and I had to create a list of students waiting to borrow them.
We have used the materials to continue learning about various artists. One project that we used the materials for was a comparison of expressionism and Impressionism. The students read about and looked at paintings from each era. Next using the information they learned, they picked an era that they liked better. They completed a writing project and using the materials supplied by you created there painting from that era. The students were enthusiastic about this project because they got to use our new art supplies.
These supplies will continue to be used with a new group of students for the upcoming school year. Using the books the students will continue learn about various artists and styles. In addition the art supplies will be used to help students tap into there creative side, and help uncover their own "budding artist".”
