Love to Read
Funded Jan 2, 2024Thank you for your generous donation. I'm so excited to have these varied leveled books to continue to support readers who are excited and eager to read but find it hard. My parent volunteers will pull one student at a time to choose a leveled reader to practice different reading strategies and pull one non-fiction book from my classroom library to deepen background knowledge and vocabulary. The leveled books are organized and are easy to assess if the parent or student decides they need a different book. Thank you again.”

Funded Sep 6, 2020Thank you for donating to my project. I received the final piece to my home classroom last week. The mini whiteboard easel is the perfect size for my corner classroom. The students can see with ease, and the bright colors make it more visually appealing. Thank you. Thank you! My home classroom is Functional and adorable.
I have been using the blue tape to hang student names, artwork, and posters to show my teaching and to review concepts being taught. When the students saw their names hanging behind me, they said, "Look, there's my name!" Warmed my heart and theirs.”

Funded Nov 4, 2019Thank you for making a donation to my project! The Calming Corner has been wonderful. I had a huge list of students wanting to use corner in the beginning. It was a fee days before things calmed down. Now students ask to use it when they need a 5 minute break. I love seeing them look at the poster, set the timer, and use the tools. Thank you for making such a positive impact on their daily lives. I will be adding a few more tools as the year goes on and switching things out. I have heard students say, "I need a break. Can I use the calming conner?" Brings joy to my heart.”

Speaking Up and Having a Ball!
Funded May 29, 2019Thank you, Thank you for your donation. Your donation has allowed students to use technology in a playful way that isn't screen time. The time together sharing feelings and end of the year ups and downs has been wonderful. We ended the year in a Camp Learned-A-Lot style with lots of sitting around the campfire singing songs and sharing about the end of the year. Almost each students shared something special about another student. I had more participation then I have had with a traditional microphone. Thank you!”

Funded Apr 11, 2019Thank you for caring so much to support my project. The students were over the moon with what was delivered. After the watercolors were numbered and the pastels were organized were jumped right in to our first project.
We have completed several projects since receiving them and have many more scheduled to do before school gets out in the middle of June. What I love most about Art Time is how hard they work and the pride they show when they are done. They would love to do Art each day if they could. Thank you for your support and love of Art!”

Stamp It Up
Funded Mar 29, 2019Thank you for taking the time to read and decided to support my project. The students are excited to be more organized and help others. I write out what the plan for the day is and they fill in their planner. Students who are assigned the "Stamper" role walk around and stamp/star/comment that they completed that days entry. Parents are asked to sign their name under the days plan showing they know what was taught and what the students responsibility is. It brings all communication to a full circle and all are in the loop. Thank you!”

Headphone Help!
Funded Feb 26, 2019What a great way to celebrate March! Thank you so much for donating to my project. This is going to be such an amazing tool to use in my classroom. I have installed the hooks and numbered the headphones. I cannot wait to see them use them. Many of the students have tried them on and commented how quite they are. I will send the older headphones home with students who want them. I know many students who will be glad to have a pair at home. Thank you so much! This is amazing!”

Take Me Home Books
Funded Jan 2, 2015Thank you for making a donation to my Take Me Home Books project. My class of 29 students will now have more leveled readers from which to choose. These leveled readers will provide students more diverse genres, opportunities for creative thinking, new world views, and at the same time increasing their reading fluency. Many students have asked to reread several of these books. Thank you! When the excitement for reading happens, students are more successful. Thank you taking the time to donate and supporting my classroom project.”

Take Me Home Books
Funded Jun 30, 2014Thank you for your generous donation. Almost every student is able to take home 4+ books each week to read at home. Students are practicing their fluency nightly. Each week students are assessed and them given 4+ leveled books to take home in their blue books bags. They are given a leveled box of books to choose from. They choose the 4+ books that they would like to read for the week. Your donation allowed for me to buy more nonfiction books to add to the leveled boxes. Thank you again for your support.”

Literature Circles
Funded Aug 23, 2014Thank you for donating to my classroom project. We started Literature Circle groups this week and students are excited to read the books purchased. They had an opportunity to choose one of four sets to start. I reassured them that we would get to all of the sets this year. They seemed relived.
Each student was assigned a book and Literature Journal. The group decided to read the first chapter at home and then discuss it the next day. The discussions will be powerful and an opportunity to learn from one another. Thank you!”
