  • Table Time to Expand Education!

    Funded May 6, 2024

When the students first saw the new table, they were so excited. They wanted to help build the table and reorganize the furniture in the room to make the table accessible.

Our new table has been extremely helpful for the students. We have been using the table to work with small groups of students to work on specific skills. It helps the kids to stay focused when they have a table to work at, and helps them to stay organized. They sometimes work on their Chromebooks at the table so they can spread out to stay focused. Other times they work on projects, or with a teacher in a small group.

We will continue to use the table in my classroom for years to come!

Thank you again so much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marshall

  • Supplies for Success!

    Funded Dec 15, 2015

These materials have been SO helpful in our classroom! We are using the printer multiple times a day to ensure that we have enough copies for things like graphic organizers, homework, and even fun learning activities! The paper helps as well because I am able to send home notices on colored paper so they are easily seen, as well as to create visual aids and bookmarks that stand out more.

The students were so excited when they saw the huge boxes arrive in our classroom and could not wait to find out what was inside! After I set up the new printer, I showed them how I can use it to make copies and they were amazed! They also love to use the colored paper for art activities.

In our classroom, we go through pencils so quickly! We will soon be creating a new project that contains pencils and erasers, along with other classroom supplies that will help my students to work effectively on all of their tasks and be in an environment where they can learn with ease!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marshall

  • Classroom Ink Helps Us Think!

    Funded Jan 16, 2015

My students were so excited to receive the ink! A large package came in the mail, and the students made predictions about what was in the box. They first discussed and then drew a picture about what they thought was inside. Then we opened the box and my students were amazed at the large, weird looking thing inside! I told my students that it was ink for our printer so that we could continue to print class activities, homework, and parent letters. They were so excited and interested to watch me install the new cartridge, and to watch the printer print out the very first pages with the new cartridge! My students are using the ink from this project by receiving homework pages and classroom activities that were printed using this ink. The cartridge has helped my students so much by allowing them to continue their learning both in and out of the classroom, as well as to keep in contact with parents. My students are excelling academically thanks to your generous donations!”

  • We Have The Need To Read!

    Funded Jan 8, 2014

This project has increased the organization and effectiveness of our classroom library tremendously! The students' new book bins are extremely sturdy, and are able to withstand the wear and tare of first graders. They also have handy clear-screen label holders that have allowed me to easily label each book bin with the specific group of books' titles. This makes it easy for children to find the books they are looking for, and for them to return them to the proper place. They also help our classroom to stay looking neat and tidy, which sets a great example for the organizational skills my students are learning helps their success.

Thank you so much for your support in our project. I see an increase in learning as a result of these materials every day. The impact of these book bins on the cohesiveness, organization, and flow of the classroom has been amazing!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marshall

  • Everyone is Invited!

    Funded Feb 7, 2014

This project has increased the effectiveness of our classroom tremendously! Each group uses their table caddy to hold shared materials, such as crayons, colored pencils, pencils, and erasers for easy access. The colors of the table caddies match with the "group colors", which makes them easily identifiable. These caddies help my students to stay organized, and allows them to use shared items with ease.

In addition, the red pencils that were donated to us in this project give students the opportunity to peer-assess and self-assess projects, quizzes, and writing in class. Analyzing work, whether it was completed by the student or their peer, allows the children to think more deeply about correctness of the conventions of english, mathematical concepts, or any other topic that is being evaluated.

Furthermore, the erasers that were a part of this project are spread throughout the table caddies, so students have easy access to these at all times as well. Our pencils are lasting longer since we now have communal "big erasers", and it no longer takes away from educational learning time because students are always able to get their hands on a shared eraser, even if their pencil does not have one. These erasers also save us from a lot of ripped papers that happen when pencil erasers become low.

The students are thrilled with all of these materials. They say that it is so much easier to get the things they need, and to keep their groups' supplies organized. All of these materials help to minimize time during instruction and working times that students use to spend to find coloring materials at the head of the classroom, ask around for an eraser, or get up to get a new sharpened pencil. The red pencils also allow students to think more critically and analyze their own and others' work, increasing their overall understanding of conventions in writing and mathematical computations.

Thank you so much for your support in our project. I see an increase in learning as a result of these materials every day. It is amazing what a few organizational tools and communal, easy-access supplies can do!”
