  • Help! We Want to Be Great Creative Writers!

    Funded Apr 14, 2011

Thank you for donating these resources to my classroom. My students are so excited about having their own journals to write their own stories and thoughts down. Since there is space for the students to draw pictures, my students have been doodling away. They use the colored pencils to bring their pictures to life. These materials are helping my students focusing more on writing. My students are on their way to becoming fabulous writers and their talent and desire to draw and create stories will continue to thrive throughout the school year. You have help learning fun! Thank you!”

  • Students with Disabilities Need Books on Differing Abilities

    Funded Apr 14, 2011

I have to thank you for your generous donations towards my project. As soon as the books arrived I introduced them to my students and explained to them the differing abilities that people have. I explained to them that even though we do not all look the same everyone is special. I allowed my students to look through the books, but I plan on exposing them to one disability a day so they can understand it clearly. After I read the book, "Looking Out for Sarah", to my students they were so empathetic about students with visual impairments. some of my students actually thought it was cool to have a dog that can help you see. When my students visited the classroom library they chose these books over the other books that were available to them. My students also were able to relate to the books. One student told me he knew a blind person, and another student told me he knew someone in a wheelchair.

Without your help, my students would not have these important resources. Books are essential to learning about the world around them. These topics are beneficial, and will be with them the rest of their lives.

Without the generous donation from you, my students would be without these books.”

  • Students with Special Needs in Need of Math Resources

    Funded Apr 9, 2011

Thank you very much for your generous donation that help fund my project that included the math resources. As soon as the books and the posters came my students were excited to use them to help them learn about math. The posters and the math books came in right on time, because the students are starting to learn about money and these are great supplements to help reinforce the concept. The book that will help them with the concept of money is Humpty Dumpty ,and is a great visual aid for the students. Without your help, my students would be without the essentials that are needed to learn math. ”

  • Learning with LeapFrog Leapsters Part 2

    Funded Apr 18, 2011

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for your generous donation towards my project! My students are ecstatic

that they have Leapfrog Leapsters. As soon as the Leapfrog Leapsters

were delivered my students wanted to play with them right away. My boys enjoy playing the Sponge Bob Square Pants and Batman games. The SpongeBob game incorporates numbers, addition, and measurement. The Batman game is teaching my boys about skip counting, odd and even numbers, and subtraction. The

girls enjoyed learning shapes and counting with the Disney Princess game and reading skills with the Ratatouille game. Without your help

my students would be without the Leapsters that they need to help

    increase their math skills.”

  • No Ink Stinks! Think HP Ink

    Funded Feb 11, 2011

Thank you for your support and generosity with this project. The HP ink was needed for our classroom printer to allow my students to print out the work they create on the computer. The ink allowed my students to be able to make colored copies of their favorite drawings so that their moms and dads can see what is hanging up in the classroom. My students are happy that they can print out pictures of themselves for our scrapbook project. There are also bright pictures of my students hanging around the classroom. My students and I really appreciate your support.&nbsp”

  • We Need Nooks Because We Love Books Part 2

    Funded Mar 22, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous support on this project. I am pleased to share with you that my students love reading with the NOOKcolor. My students actually rather use the Nookcolor than the computer! I have been able to get some of my students favorite books on the Nook such as Oliva, Dr. Seuss, the Berenstain Bears, and more. My students enjoy listening to books being read to them, but they also enjoy reading the books and turning the pages with the swipe of their fingers. Without your donations, my students would not be able to enjoy reading as much as they do now. Thank you again.”

    Funded Feb 28, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous support on this project. I am so excited and happy to inform you that the Time for Kids magazine was a hit in my classroom. My students enjoyed looking at the bright, colorful and amazing pictures. When my students saw the picture of the polar bear family hugging they said "whoa!" They were so thrilled and interested in learning about different Arctic animals. We are all looking forward to receiving the rest of the magazines in the future. Without your donations, my students would not be able to enjoy

reading non-fiction magazines as much as they do now. Thank you again.”

  • Help Us Get a Cooking Kit and Cookbooks in Our Classroom

    Funded Dec 29, 2010

Thank you so much for your generous donations towards this project. As soon as the materials were delivered, my students wanted to start cooking right away. The classroom cooking set came with everything that is essential for cooking and baking. The cookbooks are filled with so many tasty dishes and desserts. My students have made vegetable salad, chili, custard sauce, and more. This project has allowed my students to gain experience reading recipes and using math skills to measure the correct amounts. This project was also important because I am teaching my students how to make better choices in the foods that they eat. The Berenstain Bears' book "Too Much Junk Food" taught my students about the consequences of eating a lot of unhealthy foods and my students made pledges to eat healthier. This would not have been possible without your support. Thank you for helping to make a positive impact on my students' lives. ”
