My Kiddies Need Snacks to Get Through the Day
Funded Sep 17, 2011Thank you all so very much for your generous donations which allowed this project to come to life. I can tell you that my students have enjoyed having delicious and wonderful snacks to eat. Here at the school, my students have a very early lunch and usually when the afternoon hits, my students are hungry and lose focus on their schoolwork because of that. Since I was blessed with an abundant supply of snacks, I did not have that issue this school year. I was able to give my students tasty and healthy snacks to keep their precious bellies full and kept my students alert. I am so thankful that you all have supported me on this project because I have noticed an increase in my students' motivation to work hard which has also led to higher test scores. This would not have been possible without all of you. Thank you so much.”

Funded Jun 28, 2011I am extremely grateful that all of my wonderful donors have help this project come to life. This project has allowed me to have an abundance of guided reading leveled books for the classroom. Teaching five-year-olds how to read can be a challenge; the books funded through this project has allowed the job to be less stressful and more successful. I am proudly say that I have seen progress in my students' reading ability from the beginning of the school year to now. My students can pick up the books from this project and read them on their own. They get so excited when they can take the books home and read to their parents. Thank you all for giving my students the support they needed to be great readers. ”

Funded Aug 29, 2011I am so grateful to all of my wonderful supporters who have allowed this project to come true. The air conditioner arrived when my students needed it most. Even though we are in the fall season, we have had some warm days. My students enjoyed the coolness of the air conditioner several times. They were very happy about that. For the first time ever, I did not have to hear my students complaining about being hot and losing focus due to the high temperatures. Without all of your help, this would not have been possible. I have confidence in knowing that when the summer comes around, my students will be cool and focused.”

Encourage Kindergarteners to Make Better Choices!
Funded Jun 11, 2011Thank you everyone for your support on this very important project. I was so excited to know that I was able to offer my students healthy alternative choices for snacks. At the beginning of the school year, my kindergarten students were coming to school with cupcakes, pizza bites, and candy as snack. When the snacks for this project arrived, my students were so ecstatic when they saw all of the appealing snacks. When my students first tasted the snacks, I was nervous that they would not like it because it had less sugar, less salt, and less calories; surprisingly, the enjoyed them. My students are now asking for the baked chips and the 100 calories snacks during snack time. This would not be possible without your support. ”

Funded Jul 21, 2011I am so grateful to all of you who have help bring this project to life. This project was so important to me because I am a math lover and to know that my students were having such a hard time with math made me want to try a program that would not only improve math scores, but also make math more enjoyable to my students. The Singapore Math textbooks have helped my students not only pass every math test they have taken, but the books have also allowed my students to understand math so much better. Each topic in the math books starts off with a bright illustration where the students are encouraged to look and discuss what they see in the picture. The next step is to have to students experience, or act out, the lessons. Once my students have mastered the basic understanding of the topics, then they are able to apply them with pencil and paper. My students look forward to doing math. This would not have been possible without your help.”

Little Explorers in Need of Clipboards
Funded May 30, 2011I would like to thank all of my donors for your support on this project. My students were so excited about using real clipboards on our nature walk. Some of them said they felt like real scientists and explorers. This was their first experience with clipboards and they did a good job using them. I used the copy paper to make observational checklists. My students used them to draw pictures of items they found on their nature walk such as acorns, leaves, sticks, and flowers. Thank you so much for bringing this project to life. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with explorations. ”

Funded May 17, 2011Thank you all so very much for supporting this project. I have to say that the camcorder arrived right on time. Since receiving the camcorder, my students have performed three times for the school. It arrived the day before the school's talent showcase. My students were performing a new dance by Beyonce. They were so excited to know that we had a camcorder to record their performance. Two weeks later, my students performed in a peace celebration and they are currently practicing for their upcoming graduation performances. I was able to share the videos with some of the parents who were not able to make the shows. This would not have been possible without your generous donations. Thank you again.”
