Visuals are Fantastic
Funded Jan 15, 2024Thank you for all your generous donations towards a gift card for Teachers Pay Teachers. This has enabled me to purchase a variety of items that have visual cues which help my students in their ability to comprehend passages. The students are able to look back at the pictures to help answer comprehension questions, retell stories, and so many other important skills.
Using the pictures helps keep my students focused on the task at hand. They are able to hold the picture and point to the pictures as necessary.
Once again, thank you so much for your support.”

Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you for your generosity. My students are so excited to come to speech therapy and work on their goals while playing with the games from the project you funded. Many of my students have social goals they are working on including requesting, turn taking, and following directions, and using games is a very natural way to enforce these skills. Each time my students came to speech and I showed them a new game they were so excited to sit down and play. Many of my students do not have games at home so they truly appreciate using games during speech therapy which motivate them to practice and use their skills.
In the future, the students will be able to request a game they want to play, use temporal concepts to explain the directions, and improve their sportsmanship and their conversational skills. My students and I are very grateful for your generous donation.
Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving!”

Funded Apr 20, 2023Thank you all for your generous donations. You have given me the ability to purchase worksheets on Teachers Pay Teachers to provide differentiated lessons for my groups.
Some of my speech groups have students that are working at different levels on the same skill. It was so helpful to purchase a variety of worksheets that target each skill at a different level. Whether coloring, matching, or cutting and pasting, many of the worksheets I purchased are extremely engaging and make learning fun for all students. Once again, thank you for your donations. It is so helpful to have a variety of activities for my speech and language therapy sessions.”

Working Strategies
Funded Oct 23, 2020Thank you for your generous donations to my project. My project was used to purchase materials including strategies to help my speech and language delayed students. I bought several resources that I am able to use both in person and via teletherapy. Since I was able to download the materials on my computer, I am able to pull up the strategies needed for each individual student on my caseload. The other day, my student was working on summarizing a short story providing all the story elements. I was able to present my student with the strategy card containing picture cues as well as written description of each element.
My student's were excited to use the strategy cards, especially when I was able to share the strategies on their devices. They like the idea of having their own personal strategies for each skill they are working on. Some of the students were given hard copies which they colored and took home.
My students look forward to learning the strategies during speech therapy and hopefully incorporate what they learn in their classroom. I am sure with the strategy cards, they will have success in their classroom!”

Funded Nov 20, 2016My students and I want to thank you all so much for your generous donations. Your donations helped bring technology to my speech therapy sessions. Using the iPad and osmo system, my students have shown an eagerness to learn. Whether I am working on sounds, letters, answering questions, pronouns, or more, using technology has made each skill easier to master. At the beginning of each session, my students ask "Can we use the iPad?" or "Are we going to learn on the Osmo?". I love to see the excitement in their eyes as they enter my speech room. Each session, the students leave with a new skill they learned from using technology.
My students love using the iPad during speech therapy because there are so many activities, apps, and websites that can be used to achieve their individualized goals. Each session, the students are given an opportunity to master their goals using a new app or a new website. They are able to learn new skills in an easier way because technology uses a variety of modalities (auditory, visual, and tactile).
One of my students, an 8 year old boy who is classified with autism, has really taken to the iPad. Now, he comes willingly to speech and has been able to attend to a task for longer periods of time. He has learned 3 new letters and sounds in the past 2 weeks. I am so proud of what he has accomplished and he is proud of himself.
Once again, thank you all for your donations. Technology is the key to learning!!!!”

Funded Feb 10, 2014Thank you so much for your donations. My students were so excited to receive the ipad and couldn't wait to find out what apps I would be uploading. They couldn't wait to work on some of their goals in a more fun hands on way. Since receiving the ipad we have used a variety of apps that help with vocabulary, sequencing, grammar, story telling, phonics, and much much more. My students look forward to coming to speech and always walk in asking "What app am I going to use today?"
This ipad has enabled me to reach all of my students who learn in their own unique way and each have different learning styles. They are all eager to learn and because of the ipad they quickly become engaged in a hands on activity. They can't wait to use the ipad to learn and grow educationally.
I have noticed my students confidence level and independence have improved since using the ipad in speech therapy. Once again, my students and I thank you all so much for your donations.”
