  Once again, my fearless supporters are making fun happen at the NMS library. This project funds prizes for a prize wheel students are currently coming in and spinning when they read a library book. It helps keep the momentum up during 3rd quarter which seems to be the quarter a lot of students struggle in. Thanks for making this happen!”

• Judge a Book by Its Cover

  Budget cuts in the past few years have hindered me from being able to provide the newest releases for my students. We are a very busy library and our books are checked out and read a lot. They see a lot of wear and tear and my budget does not allow me to replace many of these loved books.

  Because of your generosity, I am able to purchase books that the students have requested and replace some of the books in our collection that are beyond repair. We appreciate your support more than you will ever know.”

• More Monthly Reading Surprises

  This is a project that would not be possible without your help. I am going to be able to offer subscription bags each month to students. Students are so excited to order the bags and see what surprises await inside. I'm able to personally select books for students to introduce them to new series and authors plus treat them to some neat prizes along the way.

  Through this personal shopping experience, students are able to read books that they might not have chosen on their own and find a whole new genre or author to read. This has been a very successful program.”

  Our sports section of the library is easily one of the most popular with students. Because of this not only do we need more titles but the titles we have become worn with time. Because of your generous donations, we are able to add titles to this section of the library. The students have been so excited for an opportunity to read new books. With budget cuts, purchasing books does not happen as frequently as it used to so you have given students such a gift to have new books to choose from. Without the support of Donor's Choose and donors like you, our library would not be the same. Thank you so much!”

• Spin to Win

  We are always looking for ways to get students excited about reading at our middle school. With your support, we were able to purchase a prize wheel and prizes to give students.

  Now when students finish reading a book, they get to spin the prize wheel. It has renewed their excitement for reading and made students excited to come to the library. We have students who have barely finished a book or two last year who come in several times a week as they have finished books to be able to claim their prize.

  We take pride in stocking our library shelves with series and titles that the students will love. Because of budget cuts, the only way we are able to keep the standard of titles we are accustomed to is with the generosity of donors like you.

  We are in the business of not just putting books into the hands of middle schoolers but also helping foster a lifelong love of reading. Students need books that catch their interest and many times the next book in the series they are enjoying continuing.

  Our library is a busy one which means kids are reading. The more kids read the more wear and tear happens to the books just by handling them. Keeping new books on the shelf also helps but really, who doesn't love the smell of a new book.
