Imagination Station
Funded May 7, 2024I am over the moon grateful and excited to provide the dress up center and art materials to the students. The students are going to be so excited. They are going to love being able to easily see and find their dress up outfits and accessories.
Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 2 other donors.Mission: Reduce & Reuse
Funded May 21, 2023The students were so excited to open their new materials. They became fully engaged and focused on using the building materials to engineer many designs. They were able to improvise and improve on their designs and cooperated with their peers in doing so. I heard many great conversations going on about engineering ideas as they collaborated together. Discussions about improvements to build upon failed attempts were productive and sparked creativity.
The hands-on materials such as the stretch tubes and pop buttons were also a huge hit. The students really enjoyed the novelty of being able to express their learning about sounds and sounding out with the materials.
We appreciate your contribution to our learning and growth. You truly have impacted not only our learning but also our excitement about learning.”

Calming Area
Funded Feb 3, 2023Your consideration is greatly appreciated. These calming sensory materials along with the weighted lap and shoulder pads have allowed my young kindergartners the space to regain their composure at various times throughout the school day so that they can return to instruction and engage in classroom activities.
Often when interrupting behavior occurs it is helpful to provide a safe, calm and quiet space to de-escalate and regroup. Sometimes, a student or two need a little more ability to move and sway while completing tasks.
For these reasons I wanted to create a calming area equipped with multiple tools to meet their needs.”

Activation: Full Steam Ahead
Funded Nov 30, 2022The students were absolutely thrilled with the delivery of their STEAM materials. They immediately wanted to utilize and explore their engineering ideas. Many of them said "this is exactly what we asked for!".
We have used the magnetic tiles, Tinkertoys and other building materials to create habitats and environments for various animals. We have also been able to explore building structures that can help us meet key area experiments to meet the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for engineering and ecosystems.
We have been able to develop proficiency in developing and using models, planning and carrying out investigations, asking questions, designing solutions and so much more.
We are so thankful for your generosity in helping us grow our minds. Your impact on our education is immeasurable.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 6 other donors.Mission: Creating Engaged Reading
Funded Oct 11, 2022Operation Creating Engaged Readers was a huge hit with the students in class. The students were drawn to our library area and engaged with books simply by easing their access to books.
With the cart students are able to easily see and browse books that appeal to their interests. They have become more actively engaged with books which has led to sustained engagement with the books they've chosen. All of this is the result of not being able to see our books and having to fumble with heavy baskets pulled out from bookshelves to access them.
Your donation has led to us developing as a community of readers and has led to more robust sharing of books and conversations about books. The impact of your contribution has already increased student interest in books and literacy which will ultimately result in their academic achievement.”

Let's Give A "Hand" to Curious Learners
Funded Aug 15, 2019The hands on materials are already making an impact with my students. They are engaged and eager to learn. We have already explored the different characteristics of animals and have been developing our understanding of engineering and design by building environments for the animals to live in. I've been hearing many productive discussions and debates among the students.
The kids are so excited and engaged with the materials. We have used the counters to recognize and write numbers. Using the slime charms has had the added benefit of fine motor development to our learning of graphing skills.
Thank you for your help in growing little minds who thrive on hands-on and multi-sensory experiences to help them grow! Your contribution is not only for my students now but also for students in the future years to come.
I want to give a big hand to you for your generosity and interest in making a difference. Thank you so very much!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Henry
