What's better than hands-on learning? Students need tools to learn, and it's MY job to make that happen. Today I gave a student a ten frame board (that I borrowed) so she could use it at her desk to redo her work. She missed 17 out of 20 originally and 0 out of 20 using the board!! This motivated me to get busy and find a way to get these tools! Just imagine what can happen if I provide all my students with tools that increase their learning and confidence! These tools will all strengthen my students' confidence and ability. The ten-frame boards, place value boards, rekenreks and line sliders will give my students the power of choice. They will choose tools that are most beneficial to their learning. The math dice tub is another tool to practice math skills in a fun way. Sometimes we learn the most when we are having fun. And the dice can be used in so many different ways that they never get old!
