By being able to pair-up, or group up quickly with the Surf Lap desks or bean bags, my students will be able to quickly move to be with their partner or partners to collaborate on projects and activities. I have an active class where our best learning is done in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. It can be difficult to find "just the right spot" to work yet have your own space with your partner. With the use of these items, my students will be able to actively engage with each other, have their own workspace and HAVE FUN! I believe they will be more successful and actively participate with each other better. These can also be used for those times when students need their own quiet space to learn because they can be moved quickly anywhere around the room. There is a wide variety of learners in every classroom. While the main idea of these items might be for students to find a quick way to collaborate, it is also an alternative to the norm. Many students prefer to stand, lay, or sit while they learn. These items will give my students yet another choice to help improve their learning and support their learning/listening style.
