  • Well Designed Classroom (Update to Science Lab Desks)

    Funded Mar 6, 2025

Thank you so much for your contribution to the classroom update, we truly appreciate it. The project has gotten fully funded. Looking forward to the new Learniture science lab desks to arrive for us to complete the look. The classroom is now 98% completed outfitted with science lab desks.

Our showcase wall already shows pictures of students' lab experiments, sketches and math projects as their engagement has increased. I can see a change a lot of the scholars are glad to be in class...with a lot of them working all the way to the end of the class period.

So my deepest heart felt thanks for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hamilton

  • Well Designed Classroom For Future Leaders (Desk 8 of 10)

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Thank you to all the donors for their generosity and partnership with this initiative. Since we received the science lab desk, plenty of students got to test them out by working on building paper roller coaster prototypes, prototype sports cars, rockets, science experiments with plant absorption, working in pairs in math to demonstrate their knowledge of whole numbers and fractions with pattern blocks and stacking cubes.

Essentially, a varied learning and engaging experience has been had by our scholars.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for making this possible. Our new curated classroom is coming together.

    All the best,

    Mrs. Hamilton”

From building paper roller coasters, prototype rockets, observed plant absorption, handled marine animal artifacts from a local museum to inspect the skeletal system, to workin in pairs demonstrate to whole numbers and fraction problems with pattern blocks. Essentially, a varied learning and engaging experience for our scholars.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for making this possible.”

  • Well Designed Classroom (Desk 6 of 10)

    Funded Sep 7, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your overwhelming support in getting us the desks we need to update our classroom. These Learniture science lab desks have really afforded us to think like experts, collaborate, question and problem solve on math and science concepts.

The students' eyes lit up as they saw yet another science lab desk be placed in our classroom, as the room is really turning into the space they deserve. So they can focus on becoming independent learners and gain the organizational and study skills need for career and college readiness.

The students were able to conduct lab experiments on these desks as well as we were able to invite a local museum who brought animal specimen for us to study.

Our next step is to do experiments on kinetic and potential energy as well as thermal energy.”

  • Well Designed Class (Desk 5 of 10)

    Funded May 24, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity for outfitting our class with science lab desks. My students were ecstatic with the updated desk. They immediately got to work on science and math projects that were planned for the week. Students were having high level academic language conversations in both subjects; math and science. One project was they were doing a math test via developing new candy carton design for a company President to demonstrate their knowledge of volume, surface area and product nets for assembly.

I like to display the project instructions/rubric in table tents on the tables to serve as a resource for the students to refer to as they tackled their group projects. It went over well, I can see students looking at project requirements while measuring their candy cartons to ensure it met the criteria.

We will continue to use these desks daily to convene in groups and /or individual work assignments. I am seeing an impact of the students ability to come in more focused so we can deepen our knowledge on new content.”

  • Well Designed Class for Future Leaders

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you tremendously for contributing a new science lab desk for our classroom. It's really coming together. The learniture furniture is easy to keep clean after experiments, professional looking and encourages the students to give their best. Looking forward to having our science fair in room, and theses will elevate the look of our science fair boards. We've had a science professor stop by and some teachers from another school for presentations and we received lots of compliments.

They accompany our other lab desks, lab coats and microscopes nicely.

We could not have gotten this far without you.”

  • Science Fair Presentation Boards

    Funded Sep 12, 2023

Earlier this month my students were surprised with brand new science fair boards, so they can showcase their hard work with science experiments they've done.

They've written proposals to get approved, did research some even calling experts related to their project and documenting every step along the way. They've learned the scientific method through a hands's on project. They really are taking on the role of scientists and engineers.

These display boards are pivotal to their assignment. Thank you so much for your generosity it really inspires curious minds to keep investigating and thriving.”

  • Well-Designed Class for Future Leaders (Desk 4 of 10)

    Funded Oct 7, 2023

See the attached photos of the pure excitement on my students' faces once they saw the new desks.

Working in a clean, updated and organized classroom is something my students deserve. With the right work space my students remain curious and productive. Thank you so much supplying us with the new science lab desks. Our students work in groups a few times a week, so to have these reliable professional looking sturdy desks clean up well and inspires them to give their best. We've used them for group assignments, architectural build projects, for station rotation activities and much more. So we are forever grateful for your partnership and in believing in us.”

Students learn science and STEAM concepts best when given in context, has a hands on component and a problem they have to solve. I meet with about 90 students daily. Let's make science engaging and collaborative with unique tools to bring new content alive. Similar to how one prepares to debate, they have to research their topic, put together the pieces to deliver a product that works is the same with science coding projects. Let's make that a reality for my 6th grade science students.
