Ramp Up Recess
Funded Nov 16, 2015Thank you so much for helping Ramp Up Our Recess! The new recess equipment has been a wonderful addition to our daily recess time. We have designated students who distribute and collect the recess equipment on a daily basis. Some of the favorite games and activities the kids like to play include jumping rope, playing basketball, playing foursquare or shooting hoops and of course playing kickball! Our principal just announced that we are going to be hosting our first annual kickball game, students vs teachers!
Thank you for giving all of us something fun to do when we go outside!”

Funded Dec 8, 2015Thank you so much for supporting my students! The healthy snacks have come in very handy. The students look forward to receiving a healthy snack reward after doing something worth recognizing. Several of our upper grade students play sports after school on the school basketball team and we like to make sure they have a snack to carry them through the afternoon.
Some of my students rely on the school for meeting their basic nutritional needs. I have specific students who will come in and offer to spend some of their lunch time with me and get a snack. They will assist with the younger grade students in the class at the time. It is very rewarding to see these students mentor their younger peers!”

Funded Dec 31, 2015Thank you for supporting our Physical Education Program! It is because of donors like you that my students have the equipment to use on a daily basis. All of my students were thrilled to learn that everyone in their class would have a soft foam hockey stick to use. No one will have to use the hard plastic sticks and have their hand accidentally struck.
Scooter Hockey is by far one of my students favorite activities. I have a fourth grade class that I teach in combination with an autistic support class. The scooter hockey activity puts all of my students on the same equal playing field. I even have a female student in the fourth grade class that acts as a buddy and will assist one of her male peers who is autistic. She will hold his hand and scoot around with him during the activity. It is really a special sight to see!
Thank you again for supporting our Physical Education program! You have helped make a difference in my students lives and the quality of their education!”

Bonkers About Bowling
Funded Apr 10, 2015Thank you so much for donating to our Physical Education Program. The addition of the three rubber bowling balls will greatly enhance our annual bowling unit in PE class! The additional bowling balls will allow for smaller group sizes, reduce waiting time and maximize participation.
Bowling is a lifetime sport that all my students enjoy participating in. It is my hope that by exposing them to the game of bowling at an early age they will find that it is a game they can both enjoy and play throughout their lives.
Again, thank you for your generosity and support!”

Crazy About Cornhole!
Funded Mar 3, 2015The three new cornhole sets that you helped purchase are going to be an amazing addition to our schools annual Field Day! I think our elementary students as well as our middle school students will enjoy the cornhole station. I am also excited to utilize the cornhole sets in our normal physical education classes. It will help students practice and develop underhand tossing skills and eye hand coordination. The students have already challenged me in a round or two of cornhole and that made for some fun competition!
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Good Sports Read Books!
Funded Nov 4, 2014Thank you for supporting my students! The addition of the book sharing library has been a wonderful resource for my students to utilize when they either can't participate in the gym activity because they are unprepared for class or have a medical excuse. There is a wide variety of books on different sports and activities. Every student can find at least one book that interests them if not several books that interest them! This has been a great way to bring literacy into the gym! I hope to be able to loan out the books and make them accessible to all of my students for years to come!”

Jump Start Our Recess Program!
Funded Aug 4, 2014Thank you so much for the supporting our school efforts in giving our students access to resources that help make their educational experience both positive and fun! The equipment box has made our schools recess equipment readily available. Students are now an active part in the process by making sure the recess equipment is picked up, distributed and collected. This has been a great way to teach our students to be independent and responsible! Once again, thank you for helping support our students and keeping them active during their recess time!”

Yearning For Yarn Balls!
Funded Aug 4, 2014The yarn balls you donated have been put to good use by my younger students. The addition of the yarn balls has helped enhance several of our PE games. This includes games such as 'Clean Up Your Room' which allows students to practice their overhand throws and our latest game 'Charlie Brown's Pumpkin Patch' in which the yarn balls are the pumpkins and students must collect as many pumpkins for their team as they can.
This equipment will help me keep my students engaged, actively participate and have fun! Thank you for your generosity!”

Ping Pong Accessories
Funded Jun 30, 2014Thank you for the Ping Pong Accessories! Without them our students had a non-functioning ping pong table. That is no longer the case! The students utilize the ping pong table every day! They are able to engage with one another and play a game that most don't have access to otherwise.
The ping pong equipment is always readily available so that not only can the students use the ping pong station when they have spare time but the after school program also utilizes the table as well. The extra ping pong balls have already come in handy as the balls need to be replaced frequently. Some of our staff members have even challenged the students to a game of ping pong!
Thank you for your support!”

Getting Active At Recess
Funded Jan 22, 2014My students have been absolutely thrilled to have new recess equipment! The students enjoy getting outside and having the opportunity to play with their classmates and friends. The Chinese jump ropes were new to all of my student body so that was a lot of fun teaching it to them the first time. It is my hope that we will be able to expand our recess equipment in the near future.
Thank you so much for providing recess equipment for my students when our school and district is operating on a shoe string budget!”
